"Entrance looks like a back entrance, in a side street off the pedestrian zone. You have to climb a flight of stairs to get to reception. It smells of stale smoke. Everything looks "old-fashioned"."

"I was nicely surprised when the guys at the desk responded positively on my requests. Usually for what I asked other hotels try to change you. Free coffee from bean to cup machines. Two supermarkets nearby. Just walk on the side street - it takes you right to them than walking on the main street. The only negative (which has nothing to do with the hotel and the service whatsoever) during my stay was that most of the rooms were occupied by young sport players, who were smoking in the rooms and activated the fire alarm at 04:30 in the morning. The alarm is so loud, so full hotel was woken up and everyone was walking down the stairs to get out. Only the firefighters were walking up on the stairs. All in all, I do recommend"

"Hotel Neuhaus is somewhat basic in its furnishings but everything is thoughtfully planned and laid out. For example, there is a chair on the landing between floors. In the lobby, tea and coffe are provided 24 hours a day. There is a rooftop also available where smoking is allowed. I found staff friendly. It is in a residential neighborhood, a 5-10 minute walk from many restaurants and shops on Kaiserstrasse. It is also less than 5 minutes' walk from Dortmund's Orthodox synagogue. The hotel desk is not staffed at night, and you are sent a code for initial entry if you arrive after a certain time, it appears (but check before arriving)."

"We were over the Easter holiday, 4 nights, in this hotel. The staff is very friendly and effortless. The room itself would be very nice if it was cleaned through the middle. Our beds were as we left in the morning. The bathroom was not cleaned, neither toilet nor washing basin or shower. However, we always had towels fresh. I don't know what it was because of the holiday or little staff. I can recommend the hotel for one night, but for a longer stay it can't all. Very disappointing!!!!"

"Overall, the service staff is still very enthusiastic, but there will always be a general accommodation feeling, next time I will basically not consider living here. The price is also very poor, breakfast and dinner are very expensive. 1) First of all, the room facilities are very simple, old, the furniture is very simple, the shower conditions are very poor, the room is small, and the living is very depressed. 2) The hotel has no elevator, very old stairs, two large boxes are moving, I suspect life. The carpet is dirty, and the corridor needs to be manually turned on the lights. I feel very backward. 3) The location is also very remote, in a bunch of residential areas, I need to walk out to find supermarket restaurants 4) Poor price/performance ratio. A breakfast 19.5 euros, dinner 4 of us spent 193 euros, the key is that this hotel is located in a small town, it should not be so expensive. The place worthy of praise is the enthusiasm of customer service, especially the little girl. The decoration of the restaurant is very distinctive, the decoration of the wooden structure, the lighting matching, the flowers are embellished, and the Lanhof Hotel at night is very popular."

"Very rude members of staff who were unhelpful (especially Dirk Kurt who was on night shift) who was extremely rude!!! We were too early for check in so we wanted to leave our cases and come back but we were refused as the hotel don’t facilitate for this?? And don’t get me started on the check in process, rubbish!!!"
