Hotel Pazo de Lestrove by Pousadas de Compostela

Lovely characterful, peaceful hotel in a fabulous setting. Great morning and evening views from the room - our bags had been moved to our room before we arrived which was a nice touch. The breakfast was varied and very good. The hotel restaurant food was also very good indeed. We would definitely recommend the hotel and we would come back again. It may seem churlish to mention the very few less than ideal aspects but for those looking for detail prior to booking those that there were, were as follows: drinks at the bar were far too expensive and the swimming pool water was so icy (late September) it was almost impossible to use - despite it having been very sunny all day and all week prior to arrival. The hotel restaurant produced superb food though it took over one hour between ordering and the starter to arrive - we were hungry and also keen to get to bed early for the Camino de Santiago so that was a little irritating. However the kitchen staff brought one or two canapés to try and ameliorate the slow service. And having said that, our starter (a salad) was the largest plate of really excellent salad treats I have ever seen and would have sufficed for an entire meal without having a 'main' course.

What a beautiful historic hotel! The grounds are magnificent and our room was spacious with a nice bathroom and very comfortable bed. There is a nice bar and we had an excellent meal in the restaurant (padron peppers and crispy shrimp apps, and galician steak and pork ribs for the mains along with a nice bottle of wine). Breakfast was nice ( no hot entrees but a nice array of hugh quality cold items). What really stood out was the service. We are walking the Camino and the luggage transport service delivered our bags to a different hotel. The manager figured out where they were and arranged for them to be taxied to the hotel. Disaster averted!

The property is simply beautiful, however quite a few things during our stay that were disappointing, and that’s because in my mind I was comparing it to a Parador experience. Bathroom amenities … better not the have that to offer what it is in the room. Not even mentioning the Green & sustainable pitch and all individual cases. Terrible. Minibar not working on a summer time! No way to get cold water in the room…at a property like that?!phone on the room not working… so to ask for anything I would need to step down? Tired? Thorn (and holes) sheet in the bed… that should have never passed by … Breakfast: no scramble. Eggs? Not to order nothing? No crepe, eggs, churros?! Then again, staff cafeteria was great! Good bike assistance and structure, attentive person at check in that came to meet us outside the reception to speed us up and store the bikes while other people where checking in. Amazing location! However overall experience was not as expected

This was our 2nd last hotel on the Camino after a long walk it was amazing and the best on our trip. The room was huge, the staff friendly and it was great to have a pool to cool off in. We were so tired we even decided to have dinner in the hotel and that was good as well. Could not recommend this hotel more highly

This is off the Camino path and dinner is included which is nice, but, limiting. We’d prefer to be in town. Room was nice facing the open plaza, great common areas, friendly staff. I wish they would refrain from putting those smelly sticks in the room - we immediately put out on the terrace - why? One night is perfect, it is quiet.

A beautiful and unique hotel just outside of Padron. Take some time to explore all the historic elements of the complex. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. There is a restaurant in the hotel. Not much else in close proximity.
