Newhall Mains

Enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, air of calm; the food was and dining location was remarkable, and the staff welcoming, friendly and at ease. Accommodation very comfortable. Enjoyed the sauna. All in all, a recommended destination.

We returned to Newhall Mains to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had visited a few times before and we knew that the quality and service would make our celebration very special. And in fact this visit exceeded our already high expectations. From the moment we arrived we were treated with exceptional warmth by staff who paid close attention to making our stay absolutely first class. Euan and Chris and the staff team had taken particularly good care to provide a level of service that was superlative. Our accommodation was fabulous - tasteful, comfortable, spotless and abounding in attention to detail and meticulous design. One highlight was the cocktails enjoyed in the courtyard beside a wood-burning fire pit - such a welcoming atmosphere. Everyone was charming and attentive, and showed a strong commitment to the friendly yet knowledgable ethos that Newhall Mains cultivates. We had a wonderful evening meal cooked by guest chef Paul Tamburrini - it was simply fabulous. Breakfasts were a delight: informal, tasteful, healthy and generous. We cannot commend Newhall Mains enough. We have been visiting the Black Isle for many years because we believe it is a beautiful, magical place and now that it has a hotel of this supreme calibre, that magic is complete.

This was our fourth visit! Stayed in Catriona Cottage 2 this time but all the cottages we have stayed in have been equally excellent. The food was superb and the service was as faultless as ever. The personal welcome was a very nice touch and it felt as though we had never been away!

Excellent food. Caring and helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble. Whole property was clean and smart. Super bedroom. Plenty of things to do in the surrounding area and at the hotel. Convenient for the Inverness/Tain/Dornoch/Loch Ness area. We will return regularly

We very much enjoyed our stay with exceptional service and food. The courtyard was sheltered and relaxing . They were particularly friendly to our two little dogs

Just wrapped up a lovely girls weekend at Newhall Mains. The staff was wonderful (Ruth was especially helpful!) and the hotel itself is just gorgeous. Comfy beds, soft linens, beautiful scenery, and their very own highland cows! We had a fantastic Continental breakfast every day and a really delicious dinner one night in the restaurant. There's a ton to do in the area and the hotel provides free use of some e bikes. It's a short 30 minute drive to Inverness if you want some city time too. Very highly recommend them! Thanks for a wonderful stay!
