Really lovely stay food lovely staff friendly. In a very quiet location. Would recommend. They have a carpark but it's a little walk up a hill. Close to both the steam train and devils bridge. I would recommend stocking up on food and snacks of needed as there isn't a shop close by.

We were not impressed when we checked in. Our room was quite small and the bathroom was hardly there. Forget a king-sized bed in a place like that. After a couple of hours, though, we were quite charmed. It is a lovely, historic structure in a beautiful setting. The staff was quite friendly and helpful. It happened to be a Sunday so was "Sunday Roast Night". Many hikers, and locals, arrived at the restaurant, which is quite cozy, for dinner. The food was absolutely delicious. We had planned an early departure in the morning. The manager kindly took our breakfast order, that evening, so that it was ready when they opened for breakfast. That food was delicious too (especially the waffles) with good coffee. It you seek "Old World Charm" I absolutely recommend this place.

Did an overnight stay with my husband and can't fault this place at all. The whole place was spotless and welcoming; the staff were all friendly and polite; there was plenty of food and drink choices for dinner and the food was fantastic and freshly cooked as was the breakfast. We brough home a new friend - Hafod the sheep, and we will be taking her on all of our trips in the next couple of months and posting her adventures on social media #takemewithewe.

We traveled all over the UK and hands down, this was the best hotel my husband and I stayed at! It was so comfortable, it felt like home. The food was incredible! And the service was amazing! The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. We didn't have to worry about anything while we stayed there because everything was perfect 🥰 The location of the hotel is perfect in that it's not really far from a lot and there are tourist attractions nearby. Do the Nature walk if you are able - you won't be disappointed. Back to the hotel, the beds felt like you are sinking into a warm cloud of comfort! Beautifully decorated - modern, yet keeps its charm. We will absolutely return again and again!

We were allocated the room 'Rheidol'. It was a small room with no wardrobe, just a bent metal rail with room for only four hangers. The only chair had to be used to lay clothes which needed hanging. The paint on the window frame was flaking off and mold was growing. Washbasin in bathroom was very small marble looking bowl - totally impractical. The kettle could only be filled by pouring in cups of water due to position of handle. This room is only suitable for overnight or weekend stay. The first two nights we ate in the guest's restaurant. The food was good and plentiful and the staff were very pleasant. The third night was a disaster. We could not eat in the restaurant due to a large party. We were given a table in the bar which filled up with groups and the noise was horrendous - unable to hold a conversation. My husband's ribs were undercooked and the biscuits on the cheese platter were soft and brought to the table by kitchen staff in shorts. It was obvious the hotel could not cope and management did not care about guests staying at the hotel. The car park is away from the hotel - 200metres up a hill with no barrier or CCTV. Not ideal when pouring with rain !!!! We complained to management after the meal. Very apologetic and offered a larger room in three days time. After this experience, we declined the offer and left the following morning. NOT a 4 star hotel NOT a 4 star experience.

We made a fairly last-minute booking to stay at the Hafod Hotel. The reviews were generally good, and we were looking forward to finding out for ourselves. The location is perfectly placed next to Devil’s Bridge. We had a valley-view king room, which had a beautiful view both day and night. There’s loads of parking; however, there is a short walk from there to the hotel. The room is high quality and includes everything you need for a comfortable stay. We booked on a bed, breakfast, and dinner basis, and we weren’t disappointed. There are plenty of options for the meals and the food was very tasty. The staff are friendly and well-turned out. A special mention for Charlotte, who looked after us in the evening; nothing was too much trouble, and she was charming and humorous. We’d highly recommend the hotel, and we will definitely be back.

The website states serving food all day every day in the school holidays so we arranged to meet friends from 50 miles away. Went to order some food and we were told they stop serving food at 3. A total waste of a trip. The menus also state that food is available.

Stopped here enroute from Elan Valley to Aberystwyth for something to eat early evening. We sat on a lovely outside table in the sun, I would recommend the tables directly next to the hotel, rather than those across the road as whilst both are on the roadside, these are a little more tucked back. The food was fab! I was expecting it to be a tourist trap, with the prices were high because of this and the food meager, however I was truly proved wrong. OK the main dishes are expensive but they were delicious with portions generous. Lastly, the service was friendly and efficient, the staff were on the ball. Happily recommend.
