Bluegreen Vacations the Breakers Resort, an Ascend Collection Resort

Ok, this is an older property, that has had updates, however it is subpar to any Bluegreen properties we have ever stayed at. 1st assigned room had portable AC units in windows with duct tape and foil used to seal windows. It looked like most rooms in this building had the same issues, so building central AC isn't working. 2nd room at least had working central AC, but allot of furnishings looked like they were obtained from yard sales or closed boarding school. One of the nightstands had 3 drawers, each marked with a 1,2,3 on each drawer?. Nothing matched up. Yes, gave a rustic feel, but just not a normal Bluegreen resort value or feel. Other oceanfront, or beach resorts have matching furniture that gives off beach resort feel, and match. Then, the benefit of a 2nd bathroom was lost, water mixer for shower needed to be replaced; daughter,32, got lightly burned with the hot water, and couldn't use that shower for the stay, kept being told it would be fixed, never was, so she used ours for the stay. Maybe the 2 newest buildings might be up to Bluegreen standards, but maintenance at the other buildings have been allowed to fall behind. As Bluegreen owners, we were very disappointed in this property and can not recommend it to friends or other owners. This property is maybe just above motel 6 or Red Roof Inn.

Maintenance going downhill. Faulty old air conditioners, reverting to portable units. Pool safety issues with missing unstable ladders. Full of sand improper cleaning, lack of umbrellas and tables, cracks in the pool surface and bolts sticking up from missing ladder. Weeds growing around perimeter and discarded items tossed in corner. Parking allows only 1 car per unit and very tight parking. Views are great along with beach but property upgrades are lacking and it appears all the resources go to the sister resort next door at the Soundings. Staff is friendly. Most of the fireplaces in the unit inoperative and even though they have smoke alarms there are no sprinklers in the units. Lack of proper maintenance is the biggest issue. Broken picnic tables, inoperative washer and dryers.

It was memorial weekend and the pool was not opened and it was very dirty so didn’t look like it would been open soon. They kept saying tomorrow. Had to walk on the street with my elderly mother to go to other buildings street which was an inconvenience. White socks were dirty from walking around our rooms. Was disappointed overall and I’ve been here numerous times
