"The room is old and could use a renovation. The surroundings are okay, but the moment you enter the room, you're greeted by a foul odor you can't quite pinpoint, and I have no idea where it came from. When I was checking out this morning, I discovered two dried-up pieces of feces on the corners of the quilt that had been pressed under my feet and tucked under the bed. This was a masterpiece left by the previous guest and a major mistake by the housekeeping staff, who apparently didn't even change the quilt. Otherwise, such a magnificent piece of work wouldn't have gone unnoticed. From the moment I discovered the feces, everything I see looks like feces. I feel like I've been eating feces all day. So, no matter how beautiful a hotel's photos are, they can't compare to the care and dedication put into running it."

"We arrived 5/14 after 5 hour flight to collect the key to the Villa only to learn that our stay booked in February was cancelled “ by owner” of the unit in the morning when we were in flight… All vacation planned around Del Mar we did not want to go to their other location in Coronado which they offered. We had to scramble and pay for the hotel room at L’Auberge which is not what we were planning for. The price difference was not covered by the Villa L’Auberge management. To our surprise they do not offer any compensation. They simply refund your vacation. If you are curious this happens about few times per year. We spoke with one of the unit owners who was surprised by our story since he is familiar with the rule stating once you release your unit for occupancy than it’s a done deal You can not change your mind … so I do not know what this was about… nevertheless I would not book again."
