Older home, very comfortable. Well stocked with everything we could need. Great experience to watch freighters pass in front of the house.

Charming home, great location. Walking distance to downtown area. Marina right across the street. Unfortunately, the docks were blocked off and we weren't able to acess the unobstructed views of the water for great pictures of the sunrises and ships passing by. House was clean, beds were comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed to make meals. Would definitely stay again.

My original plan was to get a place where I could sit and watch ships go by. This home fit the bill perfectly. I got several pictures of passing ore and cruise ships. Our relatives from Missouri ended up coming along with us and my wife took them to Mackinac Island and we all went to Sault St. Marie on the last day and did a cruise through the locks. The owner of the property goes over and above what we expected and the house was clean and well stocked. There were amenities too many to mention. Very nice!

This was a beautiful old home that sets in a picturesque location in a wonderful village in the Upper Peninsula. The beds were comfortable & nice linens. The house has a fantastic view. But the maintenance issues left us feeling cheated on this rental. The front porch was in desperate need of cleaning, upkeep and repair. Even the furniture was old, worn out, & too dirty to sit on let alone eat your lunch. Several porch boards need to be replaced and the gas grill "grill area"was all rusted out, we weren't sure it would even hold the steaks to cook them. Inside the home there were cob webs on the insides of all the windows esp. in the dining room which had the best view to watch the freighters come thru and the dining room chairs are taped up from rips in the upholstery. The beautiful living room looked inviting until you set on the couch with bad springs and more ripped upholstery. The kitchen is nice and updated but needs a deep clean. I don't think they have mopped the floors in years. Oven is filthy and the cupboard shelves for the dishes are greasy. Also I wondered why all of the windows were left open a few inches throughout the home and its due to the musty smell that comes up from the basement. So when it got cooler at night(we stayed Labor Day weekend) and had to close the windows that musty smell became much more prevalent. All in all its the maintence issues that ruined the stay. Even after we spent the first hour cleaning, it barely made a dent.

Wonderful Location The property was quaint and spacious and the location provided beautiful views and easy walking access to several smaller stores that had anything that may be necessary for a vacation. The home was well stocked with everything and anything, which made you feel at home. Would stay here again.

11th Annual Cousins Retreat My cousins and I enjoyed exploring this part of the Upper Peninsula as it was an area we have yet to visit. The porch was lovely to sit on and enjoy our chats and to watch the sunrise. It has a nice view of the passageway. It was fun to watch all the large shipping barges go by along with the ferry to and from Drummond Island. The boat docks were nice to visit too. The only thing was there was no air conditioning which made some of our nights challenging to get through comfortably. But overall we would recommend this place to others. Gary, the owner, was very nice and easy to work with when we needed his help with a slight bathroom issue.

This property was in a perfect location to explore the town and the area, with local venues in walking distance. And the house was perfectly supplied with everything we needed! Excellent experience for our group of two couples.

A Wonderful Week We didn't have to bring a thing. All the household necessities are there. We pretty much just brought our clothes and some food. We love the property! I especially love the little guest house in the back! I would like it for a little art studio on my property.
