The room was great, on the 21st floor, directly facing Yongtai Gate, offering a good view of the ancient city's layout. They also provided 4 bottles of high-quality spring water in the room. Breakfast was rich, including Cantonese options. On the day we left, we asked the front desk for a late check-out until 3 PM, and they agreed. Even though it's an older five-star hotel, it still maintains its quality. Very good. And it's convenient to get to the ancient city.

The hotel's location is excellent, very close to the city center, making it easy to get to both the ancient city and commercial areas. Parking was also convenient for those arriving by car. Great value for money!
The rooms were clean and tidy, with a good separation of wet and dry areas. The soundproofing was also decent. The butler was warm and patient, always ready to answer any questions, which definitely enhanced our positive impression of Datong.

Facilities: I absolutely loved the bathtub! Being able to soak while watching TV was so relaxing.
Cleanliness: The glass was so clear you couldn't see any water stains. I thought there might be some dust in the room because of the spring winds, and my runny nose is easily triggered by dust, but there wasn't a speck of dust in the room. It was a lifesaver for my nose!
Environment: They even have a rooftop lounge, which is fantastic. For someone like me who enjoys a drink, I can go straight back to my room without having to climb stairs or take the elevator – so convenient!
Service: The receptionist was so kind and gentle, showing me around the room and introducing everything. This trip was so wonderful!!!

This five-star review isn't something the hotel front desk asked for, it's genuinely from the heart! When I was choosing a hotel, I was torn between the Garden Hotel and this one, but the moment I stepped into the room, I knew I made the right choice!
1) We arrived at the hotel at 11 PM on a Friday. We had originally booked the cheapest tatami room, but the front desk staff immediately upgraded us to a superior king room, which had a window! Compared to some other branches of the same chain (Quanji), the room size was quite generous.
2) On the night we checked in, the front desk gave us a big bag of fruit! Compared to other Quanji hotels, they were incredibly generous. Our whole weekend experience in Datong was fantastic; everyone here is so genuine.
3) The breakfast was incredibly rich and varied, especially compared to other Quanji hotels. The dishes changed daily, and there was plenty of meat! The restaurant staff were constantly tidying up the food and wiping down the serving pans, so the hygiene was meticulously maintained.
4) The hotel front desk also had beautifully designed and thoughtful guide cards, which were genuinely useful when we visited the ancient city.
5) The location is convenient, quite close to the ancient city, and there are several shopping malls right across the street, which is very handy.
Overall, I highly recommend it – choosing this place is the right decision!
6) The cleaning staff were also very thorough and enthusiastic!
Seriously, everything here is done so well! Choosing this place is definitely the right call, and I'll choose it again next time I'm in Datong!

This was my first time in Datong, and staying at such a comfortable and pleasant hotel left a fantastic impression. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. The hotel's location is great, with convenient transportation and attractions nearby; Datong Ancient City is right behind it. Before arriving, I was worried that inconvenient transportation might affect my travel experience, but the two days I spent there completely dispelled those concerns. Also, the hotel's cleaning staff were very thoughtful, promptly replacing room amenities and drinking water. Overall, it was a great stay, and I'll definitely book here again next time.

This was my first time in Datong, and this hotel left me with an excellent impression of the city! The service was superb. Zhao Qingnan at the front desk was beautiful, kind, and provided wonderful service. Seeing that I had a child with me, she upgraded me to a twin room and even thoughtfully gave my child a complimentary breakfast, which was very nice.
Everyone I encountered at the hotel was warm and friendly. The security guard in the underground parking lot was especially patient and kept helping me direct my car.
The hotel breakfast was also very generous.

The accommodation at Datong Hotel Yingbin Building is excellent and meets the 3-star standard. I especially want to highlight the Chinese restaurant in the VIP building. The chef cooks for government guests, so you know the food must be top-notch! Picture three shows the mixed hotpot, and picture five is the 'Guo You Rou' (fried pork). The sliced noodles are also very well made, and the yellow rice cake is authentic. Overall, it's delicious and not expensive. If you stay at Datong Hotel, you absolutely must try the Chinese restaurant.

You truly appreciate the difference when you have something to compare it to. I first stayed at Datong Hotel thirty years ago, so naturally, it was my top choice for this visit to Datong.
Let's start with the 'positives'. For my first night, I chose the VIP building, thinking that with the country's rapid development, hotel accommodations must have advanced significantly. The promotional materials also touted its spacious and new rooms. However, upon checking in, I felt it wasn't worth the price. The front desk clearly had better rooms available but was unwilling to offer them without an additional charge for these 'so-called' superior rooms. It makes me wonder if the front desk staff has ever stayed in a four-star hotel or above. The VIP building's only real 'plus' was its larger space; otherwise, nothing felt particularly impressive. In the VIP building, the bathroom fixtures were broken, the walls didn't appear thoroughly scrubbed, and the carpet was dirty.
This judgment was drawn from a direct comparison. Dissatisfied with the VIP building, I decisively checked out and opted for the old building, where I had stayed three decades ago. I was touched by the elderly gentleman at the front desk even before seeing the room. Upon checking in, I discovered that apart from the room size being smaller than in the VIP building, everything else was equally good, if not better. The elderly gentleman at check-in introduced the amenities along the way – his service was truly commendable, and I plan to get his name for a special mention in a future review. The old building's walls were freshly painted, and the carpet was notably cleaner than in the VIP building. The toiletries also felt superior to those in the VIP building. The headboard cushions were clean and tidy, and the curtains were elegantly neat and clean.
Suggestions for the old building: The TV is quite old; replacing it shouldn't be too expensive. Attention to detail is crucial: the faucet handles, though old, have a noble appearance. The only imperfection is the missing small cap on the handle – a small blemish on an otherwise noble piece. The bathtub drain was malfunctioning. The shower curtain could be raised slightly higher. Since there are paintings, their frames should be clean and clear. The small cap on the toilet seat was also missing. Most importantly, the bathroom floor was quite slippery; measures should be taken to prevent guests from falling. Additionally, the old building's self-promotion is lacking. Enlarged photos of renowned figures who once stayed here should be displayed prominently. No other hotel in Datong boasts such an honor, and that's precisely your unique selling point.

Duplex family room, the proprietress is very enthusiastic. On the 21st floor of Block C, the basement parking lot 🅿️ Free parking. Travel is very convenient, not far from the ancient city. The overall feeling is OK, the shower will be more convenient with a handheld shower, and the big flower pot is generally

The hotel's location is not far from the ancient city, museums, etc. The starting price of a taxi is so it can be considered a central location. Free parking is available both above and below ground, suitable for those traveling by car. Parking in the ancient city is not very convenient, and some places charge a fee. It is better to take a taxi and simply park the car in the store. It is very convenient to eat around the hotel. There are time-honored restaurants and snack bars, which are simple and casual. The hotel service is very friendly, the interior is clean and tidy, dry and wet are separated, and the indoor smart control is very comfortable. I was very satisfied and stayed for three days without changing places. I spent three days exploring the city.
