Anais Collection Hotels & Suites ★★★
"Stayed at this hotel recently with 3 teenagers and 2 adults. Had booked 2 rooms but didn’t specify to have the rooms next to each other, which wasn’t a must for us. When checking-in we were told by the receptionist that if possible she would try to move one of the rooms to be closer to each other. This was fine by us but we never heard back from her (even if she couldn’t accommodate it, it would have been nice to keep us updated). The rooms were ok, tired and in need of some repairs /renovation (especially the bathroom). Didn’t expect anything luxurious for a 3 star. The apartments are ok and have the basics. The mini supermarket nearby is quite pricey but one has no choice to shop anywhere else nearby unless you have a car. The nearby beach was very convenient and walking distance which was the highlight of our trip. In the evenings there is pretty much nothing to do nearby and is peaceful and quiet, if that’s what you are after, and one needs to travel to Chania city for any action. We tried the lunchtime pool snack at the hotel. I would say overpriced for the quality. Would avoid. Also tried dinner and we were left very disappointed. The salad leaves were soft/soggy, not appetising at all. Looked like the salad was old. Hardly anything in the salad although there were supposed to be figs, pie nuts and pomegranate seeds. There were some but for €12 I would expect something amazing! I travelled from London and even I was shocked at the prices and the value for money was non-existent. We ordered chicken souvlaki for the kids which was definitely NOT REAL CHICKEN or real meat!!! Was very disgusting given that souvlaki is supposed to be their traditional cuisine, so at least they should have gotten this right. I know it’s a 3-star hotel but I would still expect the chicken to be real chicken. I have had many souvlaki before in many places but this souvlaki at this restaurant was absolutely disgusting!! For the 3 virgin mojitos, we were given 3 small glasses with water and mint and lemon. We were charged €7 per glass. AVOID!! My pina colada tasted like mixed juice. I have had many pina coladas in my time and this was definitely nothing I had tasted before and was an imitation of a pina colada. Would not eat here ever again. Totally waste of money. The location of the apartment was nice, close to the beach (5mins walk) and easy access to the Chania city by bus which stops outside the hotel. Only issue was the food at the restaurant of the hotel and the pricey supermarket nearby. The staff at the hotel were nice and helpful and provided us with information about the bus to Chania and the boat trip to Balos."
Camping Chania ★★
"I was here in 2023 and 2024 for a couple of days out of my trips with my kids! This is great value for money with the possibility of getting Bungalows etc. Which i would recommend. The camping area has pool, snack bar, mini market, restaurant etc. There is something for everybody. People in tents, people in cars camping, glamping tents etc. But also the Bungalows and Mobile Homes. The area is situated close to three larges beaches. This is not luxury but for people who sleep and go out to experience stuff and want to bring down the living budget to be able to spend on trips and experiences in stead! The place is family run and the staff is cool and helpful. Warning: There are often a lot of school kids from France and Spain etc in some weeks of the Summer months. They can be a bit noisy. However that wont keep me away."
Theos Village Apartments ★★★
"Excellent and welcoming experience from a family run business; nothing was too much trouble from start to finish . Superb options of food and drink; hospitality first class . Facilities excellent with rooms been cleaned daily and all areas spotless .would have no problem recommending this has a holiday destination . Many thanks again for a suburb stay , Many thanks Carol and Neil White"
Airis Boutique Hotel & Suites - for Adults Only ★★★★
"Another amazing forgettable stay"
Niriis Hotel ★★★
"Internet is bad, if you need to work - its not possible. I found a big cockroach on the floor after 1st night. The personnel is too familiar with guests like we are their kids and not grown up adults. Last stay was not nice scene in front of my eyes when receptionist was blaming a guest from Brazil that he did not check out properly early morning. Last stay i was also asked to move out 2-3 hours before as other guests wanted to move in early. Like i am less important than them. They called me 9 a.m. asking to move out asap. Not first time when people treated differently. No respect."
Iolkos Hotel Apartments ★★★
"Everything was perfect from the start to the beginning. Our room was very clean and cleaned everyday. We had everything we needed in the room, sandwich maker, plates, forks knives spoons, a fridge to keep drinks and food. Even had an electric stove to cook or to heat up food. Air conditioning. Our room had a balcony which was great, also with a view to the sea. The cleaning lady made sure to have our room cleaned and in order for us daily, she even made sure to surprise us with towel art she made and left on the bed also with some flowers for us. Thank you for that was very nice. The owner was very kind and helped us with everything we needed, guided us for our trips and recommended where to go and when to go and how to go. Always asked us if we are good or needed everything. He even gave us a ride to the airport the day we left which was very nice because our flight was really early in the morning. We rented a car for some trips and we had a parking place at the hotel, very convenient. The hotel is very well placed because you have the beach like literally 2 min away, you have restaurants really close and shops markets nearby. Overall we had a really good time, I believe we got the best out of the money we paid there, maybe got more then we paid for so thank you very much. When we come back to Chania we will definitely choose Iolkos Hotel Apartments again! Thank you for everything."
Veronica Hotel ★★★
""So, did you enjoy your stay here?" Tatjana, the receptionist, asked as we were leaving. My husband thought for a moment. "I think ..." he said, "it is probably the best place we have ever been." "Really?!" she exclaimed, her smile radiant. "I actually think so, too," I added. And then, on the way home and long after, every time I thought back on our vacation, I tried to understand why we answered that way. Yes, we love to travel - new experiences and new places! From primitive cottages and mountain huts to luxurious full-service hotels with panoramic sea views. Some places were boring, some were exciting, but rarely have we had a vacation which was not - in some way - memorable and joyful. So, what made this one so special? Originally, we chose this hotel because it was close to a beautiful and fascinating coastline, in a peaceful area with wonderful beaches, while still being within walking distance of the old, enchanting city of Chania, with houses and restaurants right at the waterfront and an old Venetian lighthouse overlooking the historical harbour. The hotel was reasonably priced and came with a breakfast option. It turned out to be small, cosy, simple and practical, with spacious rooms. We even had a porch view straight out to the pool. But what made it special were the people there. I have rarely met a staff more personable, friendly and helpful. Within a day, they felt more like family than staff to us. And there was something in the atmosphere of the place, so liberating, leaving you with a sense of freedom and relaxation. What was it that made it like that? I breathed deeply, letting the memories drift through my mind. And like a whisper, a word appeared in my mind: "sincerity." That is why I think we will - for the first time ever - choose to go back to a place we have already been for our next vacation. Not for the luxury of the stay, but for the beauty of Crete and the treasure of the golden hearts."
Elizabeth Suites ★★★★
"Epas and the team at Elizabeth Suites are amazing. Highly recommend staying at this immaculate property when in Chania. You will have ample parking and only a short 5 min drive to city centre. Apartments are spacious and very clean and comfortable. Do youself a favour and stay here it's a top choice in a maze of options!"
Zeus Village Resort - Adults Only ★★★★
"Overall just a great experience. Kind staff and waiters that were calm and friendly. The restaurant served great lunch as well as dinner. I would recommend visiting hotel Zeus if you’re a couple that would like a calm and pleasant stay without kids. Breakfast was good, lots of different options. They switched some of the food, so it brought variety. The only thing that we were missing was a better WiFi-connection at the apartment we stayed in. Would recommend."

Atlantica Kalliston Resort - Adults Only
Mossa Well Being Hotel
"Fabulous experience at this hotel. Impeccable service throughout my 4 days here, and the room was spacious and lovely ! Breakfast was filling , everything was amazing. Wished I could stay a few more days here. Will definitely come back if I visit Crete"
Forum Suites
"Our rooms/apartment in Forum Suites was super! The only fault was the view we were looking at an electrical tower and if you strained your neck you could see the sea. Split over 2 floors, it is nicely finished with excellent AC, hair dryer, shower and lighted mirrors which I particularly appreciated. The staff in the hotel are really attentive and helpful. The only fault is the breakfast. It seemed to me that it was made early in the morning and left for hours. The eggs that were available were just about edible. With the setup and staff it would be great to see eggs made to order. On the plus side, they were able to provide me with gluten free bread. The bus to Chania (20 minutes) leaves from right outside the hotel and you can buy tickets at reception - all very easy."
Nireas Hotel
"First of all it’s April. We’ve had some lovely days but also a few cloudy and cold ones. But as I said it’s April. The pool has been chilly Chania is just a few miles away (Doratso is really just a suburb of Chania) and only 10 mins on the bus. It’s an amazing town. Full of history and lovely people. The harbour area is beautiful and it’s backed up by small streets that are easy to navigate and a great place to lose some hours. The hotel itself is really good. The rooms are modern and comfortable. The beds are snuggly and for self catering in Greece (and I’ve done a few) it’s pretty good! Loads of local shops nearby. A few decent tavernas but get into Chania where the choice is x100…. The local beaches (only a few mins walk away) are stunning. The Greeks all come to them so that should tell you everything. The only thing I would say is that it can be very busy! You’re just off a main road. Industrial car sales and very large supermarkets. (so food shopping is easy) For me that’s the only reason I wouldn’t come back. I’d love to see it in August or July…Apart from that I can’t fault it and if you’re coming to Crete then Chania is a must! And the apartments are top drawer including the all the staff which are lovely."
Okeanis Golden Resort
"Lovely apartments, that are very well maintained and within very easy walking distance to at least four beaches. Plus the best cocktails, and cocktail maker (Angela), with a daily happy hour (4-6pm) to start your evening!"
Okeanis II
Domes Noruz Chania, Autograph Collection
"Beautiful location, beautiful hotel and everyone is very welcoming and helpful. Travelling on my own I felt extremely comfortable and really appreciated the small details like additional locks on the door and ways of ensuring I was not disturbed. Would stay again in a heartbeat and plan to come back."
Althea Village - Family Hotel
"I came to Althea Village Hotel on 14th October - 21st October, and the stay was perfect cannot fault it at all! Staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The weather was perfect apart from 1 day but was my last day so did not matter really. Beach is a 10 min walk - Iguana Beach, lovely beach and sea is beautiful to swim in spent alot of the day in the sea. Caught taxi from the hotel (arranged by the hotel) to Chania old town which was lovely. If needed, there are two supermarkets nearby Synka and Lidl which were handed as I needed essentials once or twice. Overall a really relaxed and nice stay, would definitely come back!"
Hotel Stellina Village
"We had a Nice and relaxing stay at Stellina Village Hotel for Two weeks in the middle of July. The first week was great. Our apartment was quite new, comfortable and nice, and we also had a private pool that we enjoyed in the evenings. The food was very good with a big variety of dishes and we really enjoyed the pool area and all the areas of the hotel, except from the playroom that we were looking forward to enjoying with our 2,5 year old daughter. The playroom was very hot and had a lot of mosquitos so it was almost impossible to stay there at daytime. And it closed at 17 o clock so in the evening it was not accessible. The hotel is in general very nice and comfortable. The rooms are great and so is the sweet ladies who clean them. It is a great hotel for families who want to relax and enjoy some quiet time close to Chania. We took the bus several times to the city center and it worked great. You can buy tickets at the reception desk. The second week was not that good though. There was an electricity shut down on our 5th day at the resort and the air condition in the restaurant was damaged. I had read about shut downs from earlier reviews but I expected that this would be fixed by now since it was not a general problem in the area, but just in the hotel. The air conditioning didn’t work at the restaurant for the rest of the stay (9 days) witch made it almost impossible to eat the three meals we had payed for in the all inclusive package that we bought. We were not allowed to take food to the room, so we started skipping meals since it was unbearable to be in the restaurant especially for lunch. This ended in extra costs for us since we instead bought food in the a la carte restaurant. The hotel compensated us with a small amount (around 2% of what we payed for the last 9 days), but this did not in our eyes compensate for the amount of meals we skipped or for the damage made on the whole experience! I would like to award the employees in the buffet restaurant for the fantastic service they gave us which is the main reason that we still give the hotel such good rating! Stelios, Iro, Anna, Adonis, Maria, Mixalis and the rest of their team were working under hard conditions in up to 37 degrees, but we’re still so caring, sweet, funny, service minded and kind! We have no words to express how good an impression they made on us! We will really miss the whole team a lot and thank them for making this a very nice stay even though the conditions where not good! I really hope the hotel management take this problem seriously so that no more guests have to eat under these conditions! If this hadn’t happened we would have given the hotel our best recommendations since the first week when everything worked greatly was fantastic!"
Athina Beach Hotel
"“An excellent hotel that exceeded our expectations on all levels! At Athina Beach Hotel we found a small paradise of relaxation for our family. The three guys at the reception (Yiannis, Christina and Nikos) were incredibly friendly, smiling and willing to help us with anything we needed. Mrs. Argyro, the cook, enchanted us with the incredible handmade things she made with a lot of love – in fact, on the last day she asked us what we liked so she could prepare it for us! Also, the cleaning ladies, Georgia and Maria, made sure the room was spotless, changing towels and sheets every day. We had a wonderful time with our child and we highly recommend it to every family. We will definitely be back!”"
Golden Bay
"Very nice place with perfect location at the first line from the sandy beach surrounded by pine tree park. There is a lot of nice restaurants around. Hotel is well maintained, including green territory and a swimming pool. Our room was spacious, with two balconies and a sea view, with a kitchenette, which by our opinion could be completed with a microwave. The hotel management deserves a separate gratitude- especially Voula and her team, who took very good care of us troughout our stay in the hotel. Thanks to such highly professional, smart and cheerful staff our stay in Crete was particularly pleasant and unforgettable."
Talos Hotel Apartments
"Talos is family run. They have two or three dozen rooms and restaurant onsite like many other hotels in the area. I came during shoulder season and the included breakfast was ordering off a menu like dim sum type operation where you write the number of each item you want. Sound insulation is okay but you may hear the diners depending on your room location. It's very close to the beaches and a running park is right in front of the hotel. Owner couple has a funny and quirky sense of humor. The patio with drying rack is appreciated as this is a beach hotel. It was mostly clean though could have been slightly cleaner - I'd give it a 8/10 on cleanliness. Great value for the money."
Elma's Dream Apartments & Villas
"Charming, family-run accommodation with a nice pool, and an incredibly friendly and helpful host in Andreas. Very close to a lovely beach (you can borrow parasols, beach chairs), quiet at night, and on a bus route which can take you east into Chania town, or west to visit other beaches."
