Days Inn by Wyndham Dalton

Location: Situated in a busy area with many amenities within walking distance, providing a convenient location

We used to live in Dalton and go back from time to time to visit. We've stayed in the hotel before several years ago, but were usually put in a newer area of the hotel. This time we were put in what was the older section, and it was GROSS. The door had a foot print and dent in it. It looked like someone had kicked it hard at some point, and nobody bothered to repair/repaint it. The flooring (vinyl) was mismatched randomly throughout, giving early trailer-park vibes, the tub had no stopper or stainer and was rusted out around the drain - just a rusty gaping hole. The toilet rocked back and forth, and the shower head was corroded. There was some sort of gummy adhesive about a half inch thick on the floor around the tub, which was sticky and covered in grime. There was some sort of pink liquid soapy substance around the edges of the sink. The lamps on the wall and the top of the mirror and headboard were covered in a thick icky dusty lint. It obviously had not been wiped down in ages. This particular room looked like it had not been updated in decades. On the plus side, the young lady who checked us in was friendly and helpful, sheets looked/smelled clean, and the location has easy access to restaurants. This was once a decent (not fancy) motel, convenient to what we needed. Now it's a run-down disaster. Management needs to spend a little and update/repair the rooms and cleaning staff needs to be re-trained to clean the entire room, not just change the sheets and towels.

Rooms really run down - look like they haven’t been updated since 70s, dripping noise all night plumbing in bathroom, orange brown streaks in toilet, spiders on sheets and roach debris in room (no pest control), teeny tv, teeny half pillows. Had to sleep with covers over my head bc of dripping noise. Alternative room had strong smell and another tub dripping. No maintenance on site to fix issues.
