Nice clean hotel near historic Cumberland sites. Convenient access to the C&O Canal towpath from the side of the hotel. Walking distance to the Western Maryland Scenic Railway but were informed that we could not stay parked there for our train ride the next afternoon unless we stayed another night. So free parking only for the night then you need to go. We were on the front side closest to the man road but surprisingly were not bothered by much traffic noise (more in the morning than evening). Low water pressure but the shower head was up really high (I don’t know that I could have reached it) so if you are tall, no need to duck down for a shower here. Beds were ok not great by any means, towels and sheets were comfortable.

I’ve stayed here before and never had any problems. Location is great, rooms are decent. Breakfast is so-so. This stay was a bust, however. I checked in at 8:30 pm and they gave me an upgraded room. They subsequently assigned the same room to another couple. I was fast asleep when they arrived in my room at 1:00 am. That definitely woke me up and it took me an hour or two to get back to sleep. Although I was able to stay in the room the front desk cancelled my room keys so I had to go back down to the front desk after breakfast to get my keys activated. Not sure how they can book two parties in the same room but it was the first time it ever happened to me. Very unprofessional and very disappointing.

Website stated construction started in May and would be complete by June 9th... Consistent construction going on everywhere every day... Terrible breakfast...

You would think if you were renovating you wouldn't charge a full rate to people who are forced to smell strong paint smell all day. The only way you can get on their WiFi is to sign up for the loyalty program. Then it just spins when trying to log in. The hot tub was a plus.

We only booked this hotel because it was the only one in the area with a hot tub. My husband went in it the first night we were there and it was like bath water, then turned cold. We told front desk, they did nothing about it. Told a different person the next day, they did nothing about it. By the third day I called and asked why no one would even take a moment to look at it and they said it has to be someone in maintenance. Apparently no one was there from maintenance. We stayed three nights. We are now leaving and the hot tub has yet to be turned up. It’s disappointing since the hot tub is not broken. No one took the time to find help to turn it up for a temperature that’s meant for a hot tub. Also, it was not the cheapest hotel for the area and again, we chose this hotel simply for the hot tub.

Excellent as usual, but some glitches. First room had noisy HVAC that prevented sleep. Desk associate quickly assigned me a new room. But new room lacked refrigerator; desk associate told me at checkout that will change once property’s ongoing refurbishment is completed.
