The hotel is nice and in a good location, but the gym doesn’t have all the equipment. You can hear everything from the people in the other rooms. The pillows are really old, and the rooms are cold — you need to ask for extra blankets. The food is okay, but they always use a lot of condiments. If you stay on the weekend, you might have a bad night when concerts are held at the stadium because of the noise.

I used to believe this was such a cool and top hotel. Its location is prime, tho. Free breakfast has a buffet component but the main course is a la carte. Its food is very regular. They do have cheap lunch menu at only 5 bucks, if you need it ! It’s a beautifully designed hotel but it’s always hot inside the rooms, which don’t have a/c (not because you’re in the highlands doesn’t mean you don’t need to have one. In Hotel Santa Lucia they sure do). It wasn’t my first time staying but I asked my reservations department at work to not keep booking because it’s so average that the money paid is not really worth it. Staff at the restaurant are very attentive. Some staff at the front desk, as well. It’s curious because Cuenca is always charming regarding treating their guests but both times I’ve stayed, front desk ladies have an attitude. Not towards the guest, but they’re like tired of working customer service. That’s how it feels. Cherry on top: got a comfortable king size bed room and it had dust all over the night lamps by the beds. My last room had a balcony and it had an outdoor reflector on it that lit up the hotel structure but the curtains weren’t long enough to cover the light coming from outside. Although one guy from the front desk tried to fix it, there was a risk of all outdoor lights getting out of control and had to sleep both nights with the outdoor brightness. Walls sure need maintenance. Props for the in-room wine chiller which I used for soda and lending my a laptop.
