We enjoyed our stayed as a family but the service and food in the buffet style restaurant at night was very poor as food was cold and we were finished eating before we received our drinks. We eventually managed to speak to a manager about it. However, we have stayed before and ate in other restaurants and they were good. Upgrades to winter garden bar were nice but again service for drinks very slow. Overall a 6.5/10 stay.

Overall this was an ‘ok’ stay. We’d booked 5 rooms for a family gathering and only one was a decent size with a decent view. For the price paid, we expected better. The hotel needs a little tlc here and there but it’s nice enough in general. There were also LOADS of children - even in and out of the bar area, unaccompanied, in the evening which we thought was odd.

We stayed for our one year wedding anniversary having gotten married there last year and were left a bit disappointed. No acknowledgement was given to the fact it was our first wedding anniversary despite this being our literal wedding venue and we felt a bit rubbish considering my best friend had a one night stay at her wedding venue on her first anniversary and they were treated so well and given such a lovely card and things. For context, I’ve stayed at other places before for dating anniversaries and had a little card and loved that. I also work in customer service and used to work in hospitality and if we were aware of an anniversary, we’d always make sure the couple had chocolates and a card at their hotel. She felt so special and I guess I hoped for the same. The room was absolutely beautiful and most of the staff were lovely and the view from our room was stunning! The Victorian Baths are the one thing I will absolutely go back to this venue for but the Winter Garden bar was also beautiful and such a nice place for a quiet drink! Overall, I don’t think we’ll return to stay or for dinner but the bar and the baths were amazing so we may return for those!

The hotel and location is and always has been fantastic. We previously left a review about children running amok with little parental supervision in the main heart of the hotel, this has all changed with a new central upgraded area that brings the hotel to life for adults with a separate area for children and families to enjoy. Now looking forward to coming back again soon.

WE visited as a large group for an anniverary. The service was terrible and we are unlikely to visit again.

We were looking forward to a nice night away but not being able to check in till 5pm was a bad start and then we get in the room looking for a nice cup of tea but no kettle. Then the beds were uncomfortable and we had to check out for 11am. So really no time to use the facilities and ended up cancelling our lunch booking as we had no time to freshen up. We ended up getting room service which we actually had to leave the room to order.

At a time where it seems that hospitality couldn’t be anymore difficult to succeed in, Crieff Hydro seem to be doing everything right. People make a business and a it really shone through during our visit. Looking forward to returning sometime in the near future.
