"A very disappointing afternoon tea. What was supposed to be a special family occasion was very underwhelming. No atmosphere (we were the sole diners), scruffy room, no nice white tablecloth, cold temperature, and indifferent service. The food was mediocre - just 2 small finger “sandwiches” per person, no other savoury items, slightly weird brownie/macaron/marshmallow cakes and some ok scones. The lemon tarts were very nice. The whole experience was slightly sad and not like any other afternoon tea I have ever had. I know it isn’t expensive and shouldn’t be compared to a £5O tea at The Angel in Abergavenny, but it really was a world away from an enjoyable occasion."
