Costa Mesa Inn - Newport Beach Area

DO NOT STAY HERE. They kept our security deposit of $200 because they said there was animal hair in our room. WE DID NOT HAVE ANY ANIMALS. They have cameras and I'm sure they could look and see that we had no animals. The only thing we left in the room was a small pile of dirty towels. I think it is because I called them out on their pool and breakfast lies. They misrepresent themselves online - their pool has obviously NOT been operational for a long time, and they do not have a free (or any other kind) breakfast. There were tweakers in the parking lot late at night. I would suggest you sleep on the street before you give these people your credit card information.

The Costa Mesa Inn's write-up versus the truth is almost like a National Lampoon vacation movie. We didn't see the renovated rooms, but don't accept one of the old ones that isn't remodeled. The floors, walls, ceilings and closet areas were a mess. Their photos lie! The rooms DO NOT have irons or ironing boards, or hairdryers as shown in the list of amenities. No breakfast, no Newspaper, no business center. The pool and spa areas are a non-functioning wreck. Where you check-in is a mess, furniture is piled up and separated by a curtain perhaps hiding what was the business center. We were "upgraded" to a room with a kitchen that was a disaster. The refrigerator was too large for the regular space so it was in another corner under a window covered with cardboard and they had to hook it up with an extension cord. In the morning we were invaded by ants. The place inside and outside looks like no one cares. The housekeepers were nice. It is in a great location.
