R2 Hotel Pajara Beach

When we arrived, dinner had finished so they put on food for us in the restaurant. A cold plate of cheese, fruit and fish? Fish no thanks. They would be better having soup. So had a disappointing start. Stayed for 2 weeks end of May. The hotel is abit out of the way. To get to spar it's about a 15 minute walk. We used the electric scooters located at either side of hotel on promenade or from Hotel next door H10. These are €1 to unlock them 0.35 cents per minute. Prices have increased over the years. Not much of shops near spar just a couple. We caught a bus to Morro Jable costing €2.40 each way takes about 20 minutes. Bus stop is quite a walk away. Hotel Room Size is ok, beds comfy enough. Safe is €4 per day. Abit steep so didn't use. Alot of renovation work being done so lots of drilling going on. Didn't disturb our holiday though. TV works fine with USB. Hairdryer in bathroom, shower in bath but not the best. Cleaners friendly and clean well every day. Nice size balcony. Small fridge, 2 bottles of water given on arrival then refill stations around hotel. Towels for pool also left in room. Pool area Pool bar food ok burgers aren't the best, hotdogs ok. Seen better seen worse. Hot chocolate available at bars but are made to order not from machines. Slushies at pool bar, alcoholic and non-alcoholic. I lived on the orange one. Pools are lovely abit cold when first getting in but soon warms up. Top pool same temperature but beds are bolted down so can't be moved so would be difficult getting shade. Special beds €50 for day definitely not worth it. Smoking stand up areas around edge of pool. Some days they had singers at pool area this was great. The views from the pool area are absolutely breathtaking, best I've ever seen. Soo beautiful like a postcard. Restaurant was fine, always something to eat most nights. Breakfast was the best. Not issues finding a seat at all. Restaurant is massive. I was very shocked there was no pizza at all even on Italian night (always a great back up) at restaurant or pool area. Beaches Beach to right of hotel has no internet connection at all, so we used beach to left much better connection. For 2 beds and an umbrella it's €15 euros. Beach is lovely and sandy no rocks. There is also a public toilet. There is also a tiny beach area near steps by pool bar. They are loads of chipmunks near there, loved to go there and feed them nuts. The pigeons will also land on yr hands. Overall we had a lovely holiday. Costa Calma is well too quiet for us and hotel is out of the way. But the views are amazing.

The hotel looks spectacular but beneath the surface there are cracks. The room is spacious with a beautiful sea view however the air-conditioning is woefully underpowered. We reported this to maintenance but they said the system has to cope with the whole hotel and we would have to accept it as it is. The pool area is very beautiful and spacious, the hotel has a strict no reservation of sunbeds by placing your towel down unfortunately this is not enforced and every morning when we arrived at the pool a sea of blue towels with no owners covered the majority of sunbeds The food was very good maybe a little repetitive but high quality. Outside amenities all closed at 6pm The no smoking zones were just as strictly policed as the no sunbed reservation policy with people lighting as and when they pleased. A lovely hotel spoiled by the flouting of simples rules put in place to benefit everyone
