Hotel good for 3* . Clean in all areas. AC was a spinning fan ours only seemed to have one speed which wasn’t much use. Fridge in room - separate room for kids. Staff all friendly. Costs Calma is a quiet resort with not many shops etc. but we liked it as wanted a relaxing holiday. Food ok , different each night. Pour your own drinks in AI which was fab ( including spirits) pool table €1 which was great for the kids. Table tennis and tennis also available. Beach was nice too. Went to Morro Jable for a day which has lots of shops etc. €30 each way in a taxi. Good holiday

I cannot praise the staff here enough. We stayed for a week in early September and what a week we had! The staff go out of their way to be friendly, kind and courteous at all times- they truly cannot help you enough. The hotel is clean and tidy with rooms cleaned to a high standard. The pools are also maintained well. There is a fairly large variety of food on offer which rotates day to day and there's generally always something to please everyone, even the fussiest of eaters. It isn’t 5* gourmet food and does get a little wearing after the first few days but it’s perfectly fine. There's different entertainment on each evening and also further entertainment during the day. I don't agree with previous reviews about it being 'dated'. On the whole, it's what I would expect from a family friendly resort like this in the Canaries. It was a little like stepping back in a Time Machine in parts but I don't think that's a bad thing at all, reminded me of holidays as a child. The only things I will say as minus points is the fact the rooms don't have air con. The main room within the apartment has a ceiling fan which is somewhat effective but the side room with sofa beds has nothing. This could be made better with plug in fans or something, the rooms were often much hotter than outside. The location also isn’t the greatest, we didn’t realise this before booking. You need to rent a car if you want to do basically anything other than go to the beach (around a 20 min walk) or stay in the hotel because Costa Calma has nothing else to offer. We sadly didn’t know this before and were unable to hire a rental car once there due to lack of availability so saw none of the island whatsoever (no public transport to take you from here to further up the island where museums are). The wind can get irksome, the hotel is in a very windy part so inflatables and such blow away a lot! Some of the sunbeds are broken and they are all a little tired so could probably do with replacing. I’d also say I liked the hotel’s policy of not reserving sunbeds but we realised quickly that absolutely no one adheres to this so if you haven’t put towels down by around 8am, you’re not getting a sunbed! All in all a great trip though and I have nothing but praise for the incredible staff here!

Hotel rooms very outdated and dirty. Not much selection of food and what you get is overcooked. Towels were disgusting and didn't smell fresh even once. One if the days asked for towel change and thy had been used. Salad smims in dirty water. My kids just ate rolls and hot chocolate while there. Save your money or give ti charity but not this hotel

We spent 10 days here, everyone on the staff was superb. Entertainment team were so sociable and made my wife who had limited activities so welcome and included, Special mention to these 3 brilliant ladies. We knew what we paid for and came away very happy. Drinks superb. Food there was something to eat when required and never went hungry. Would recommend

Family holiday with my two daughters. A lot of positives with this hotel, room spacious and set up to accommodate us, albeit a bit of a wait after normal check in time to get into our room. Staff hardworking and friendly. Self serve drinks a good idea. Pool area clean. Entertainment on nightly, better than expected. Food was ok, did go into costa calma for a couple of nights mainly for a change of scenery. Overall the hotel is rated a three star, I would say a little better than that, really enjoyed our holiday
