Staff was efficient Room was clean and basic Mattress was soft for me but okay for my husband Pillows were terrible bring your own. Well lit parking lot and easy parking Many restaurants within walking or offering delivery. A good place if you have a visit to Mercy hospital

I booked two hotel rooms at AmericInn in coon rapids for my daughter’s birthday. There was 5 of us a the plan was to have 1 room for the kids and other for the adult as the rooms are for 4 people per room. I booked through ******* and used a card to hold the reservations. I called the hotel to ask if I can use a different card to pay for the rooms when I get there to check in and they said yes. I get a call the day of booking stating I need to provide a different card number to pay for the rooms. I provided the card information and asked if it will be charged upon arrival to the hotel. I was advised yes. I get a notification that my card that I booked the room for the reservation was charged for one of the rooms and the card I gave over the phone was charged for the other room. When I was told nothing would be charged until I checked in. I get to the hotel and they ask me to insert my card to pay for the rooms. I advised them that they already charged my cards for the rooms and showed them and emailed them screenshots of the charges in my bank accounts. The person at the front desk said I still needed to pay for the rooms as the transactions declined. I told them it didn’t decline as I had enough funds in both accounts and even called both my banks and both banks confirmed the transactions went through. I asked why my cards were charged in the first place as they weren’t supposed to be charged until I checked in and the person at the front desk didn’t have answer. He kept telling me in declined and would not give me the rooms that I paid for already. He was very short and rude. He said the manager said couldn’t give me the rooms until I paid for them even though they were already paid for and when I asked for the managers number just gave me the hotel card for the front desk and told me to call back on Monday when the manager was in. This didn’t help with my current situation and he advise I either pay for the rooms or leave. It wasn’t until my fiancée called up there and talked to the person at the front desk that the guy gave a key to one room and said figure it tomorrow when we checked out. I asked for the key for the 2nd room and was told I get one room only. We had to fit 5 people into an 4 person room. It was the worst sleeping situation. The next morning there is a new person at the front desk and went to check out I explained the situation from yesterday and she said not sure what happened but both transactions went through and the rooms were paid for already. She gave me the receipts and the 2nd room I paid for I guess they gave to someone else and they already checked out. I told her I only got one room and wanted a refund for the 2nd room and she advised that I call back on Monday to talk to the manager to get a refund. I called up on Monday and told the manager what had happened and not once did he apologize for the situation his hotel caused by charging cards they shouldn’t have until I checked in and the rudeness of the person at t

We came to this hotel mainly for the pool and just stayed for one night. After check-in, we spent a good 2 hours swimming until we noticed literal feces smeared on the floor near the hot tub and pieces of poop in the corner on the left side of hot tub (we noticed it when one of the people we were staying with went into the hotub and laid their head back almost directly into the pile of poop). This was gross, but "code browns" happen all the time in pool areas and we wanted to give the staff the benefit of the doubt. The real shocker came when we immediately notified the person at the front desk and no one ever came to clean it. The guy at the front desk told us he'd call the manager but was in no rush to close the hot tub to clean up the feces that was inches from the water. We saw people all night going in and out of the hot tub WHILE IT WAS STILL THERE - no concern for guest safety in the slightest! Sure enough, after hesitantly deciding to stay the night, it was all still there in the pool area the next morning, well over 12 hours since we notified the staff. We talked to multiple staff members that day and the following morning before checking out about possibly getting the cost for the room discounted, or at the very least getting the literal poop cleaned up so we could go swimming. Each time we were told that they would "let the manager know", but aside from that, no one made any effort at all to do anything about it. It wasn't until a very kind blonde staff member (didn't catch her name) heard us while we were getting breakfast the next morning and rushed to get it cleaned. Overall, it was an awful experience. The staff were kind but incredibly unhelpful, no manager was present, they let people sit in the hot tub next to a biohazard all night - there is seemingly no care at all for the safety of guests considering they left excrement out in the open near the water for over 12 hours! Stay far away and go anywhere else.

My daughter says “the place has character”. That’s being generous. The place is in bad need of a refresh. Tiny bathroom. Give you two towels, no hand soap (they were out of) and the tiniest bar (just one) of bar soap. Room lacks electric outlets, definitely no USB plugs. Drapes should have a sheer curtain so when you open them to let the light in the entire parking lot can’t see in. Coffee available in the lobby but no cream for your coffee. Only option is CoffeeMate. The free breakfast even sadder. Cooler had 4-6 cartons of milk and maybe 4 small containers of yogurt. A few slices of bread and 2-3 bagels. Opened the chafing dish to a half dozen pieces of bacon and a partial container of eggs. Partially filled cereal containers. The only fruit available was some old looking oranges. Lobby as well as the breakfast area were so badly lit and cast a depressing look on the place. Thankfully I was not on the 2nd floor. Interior stairs in the lobby and no elevator. Plus note, staff was very friendly. Will not be back.

Clean comfortable and affordable
We came in for a softball tournament in the area. The rooms were convenient and clean and there was space for the team to meet in the evening for dinner.

Very clean. The handicapped room could have had a taller toilet, but plenty of grab bars. Didn’t eat there. The coffee was good. No regular creamer, only flavored. Liked that hours for children were limited in the pool. I would stay again
