Tru by Hilton Columbus Airport

Nice hotel, typical Tru. The only issue was a weird smell in the hallway and lobby. Smelled like stale popcorn. Room was clean, parking was free and breakfast was included.

Vandalism with no response from management. We were in Columbus for a concert on a Saturday thru Sunday stay (July 26-27). Upon leaving on Sunday morning we noticed glass all over the parking lot and reached our truck to realize we had been hit as well. We took pictures and video and went back in to report the crime. We were told the GM Jermaine would be in early the next day. We called and he hadn’t arrived. He has not replied to any messages (phone or email) and this is Thursday. We are Hilton honors members and the lack of concern, communication and security makes this incident feels like a double violation.

Nice, overall. Room is clean, but small. No carpet. Must squeeze soap and shampoo tubes to use in bathroom. Lobby amenities and decor is really cool.

Pretty dirty bathroom floor and corners. Found multiple (short) hairs on the bedding and the wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling. Airplanes were super loud as well, but that’s to be expected at an airport hotel.

5 star hotel with a 3 star neighborhood The Hotel and the staff are amazing. The women working the front desk were truly a pleasure to wake up to in the morning. I would have given this hotel a 5 star but unfortunately on my last night stay someone broke into my work truck and stole $1,500 worth of tools. I really regret having to give them a 3 star, it truly is 5 star service and clean hotel, but unfortunately there is definitely some thieves that frequent their parking lot. Be forewarned if you are staying for multiple days, take any valuables out of your vehicle and leave them at home, your room or on the job site. My work truck was locked and apparently the thieves had keys to my boxes. I know this because the locks were not jimmied and whoever got into them had a key. If you do not believe me check Amazon for the keys to your tool boxes and see if they have them available for your tool boxes as well 😉. I learned a very valuable lesson the hard way, and I hope my review helps someone else.

My room/hotel was very clean. Check in and out was easy. McDonald’s, Sheetz and Waffle House is very close. Staff are wasn’t friendly at check in or check out, but the process was smooth.
