Holiday Inn Columbus Dwtn-Capitol Square

I liked the hotel, they checked me in earlier than the stated time. Very good

Stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights for work. It’s in a good location with close proximity to the Statehouse and other government offices. I did really appreciate being able to check in early (around noon) and it was so nice to have on-site parking that wasn’t valet, especially in a downtown area—it made everything easier. My booking included a breakfast coupon and the restaurant breakfast was surprisingly good—you get to choose from a menu of about five options. I had the omelet with ham and veggies and it was really good. The server was very attentive and friendly. There were a few cons, though. First, the front desk staff when I checked in was dismal—she was so unfriendly that it bordered on rude. I felt as though I was interrupting whatever she’d been doing when I arrived. Also, I was given a different room type than what I’d booked, which I didn’t realize until I’d already started to unpack—I received a standard double, instead of a standard king. I wasn’t asked if that was ok, and I’m hoping there isn’t a price differential. There was no bottled water in the rooms, and they were sold out down in the shop, so that wasn’t very helpful. I thought a bottle of water in the room was pretty standard everywhere. I guess if I stay here again, I’ll bring my own!

Overall everything was good, the biggest issue is the advertisement, said breakfast included. And that was mother case. Hotel, nor what those dot com were willing to fix the mistake.

Everyday housekeeping would come in and make the bed and a few of the hotel items would disappear. Like a shower towel and hand towels, coffee cups and coffee pods, with no replacements. The next day i had to ask for toliet paper and shower gel. Very annoying. Also, the toilet was not secure to the floor.

On site restaurant was very handy, however they were severely understaffed with the amount of customers waiting to be served . The front desk staff was very helpful to this senior that had no idea how to get an Uber along with answering other questions we had.
