Lacus Vitae is our family’s happy place and we want to make it yours as well! Here you’ll find a newly remodeled lakefront cottage that allows you to truly enjoy all that Lake Waccamaw has to offer. Lake Waccamaw is the largest of the natural Carolina Bay lakes with a perfect pH.
Our lakefront home is located 39 miles west of Wilmington and only 35 minutes off I-95. Lake Waccamaw State Park is 6 miles away where you will find trails to hike and learn about the plants and animals that are only found in or around the lake, the boat landing is a mile from the house and the pier is right out the backdoor where you can sip coffee as you watch a beautiful sunrise or sit back and relax. This is our favorite place to stay! Repeat guests! We love it! The view is outstanding! We spend a lot of time sitting on the dock admiring the beauty! We did notice a few minor issues like the back door feels like it is falling off the hinges, a few lights don’t work, and the ceiling fans are loose. But we definitely will be back again though !!

Beautiful lake setting! We loved the morning sunrise. The rooms are very well laid out. Kitchen was great! Location is excellent. The host was very responsive and took good care of us. We highly recommend!

This was exactly what we were looking for; a cozy lake house to get away from things and fish. The kids had a blast. There was plenty of space for the four of us to hang out. There were games available and the smart tv made for a relaxing evening after fishing. The kids were very excited about the bunk beds as well! Town was close by and the grocery store had any odds and ends we forgot. Had great conversation with the neighbor two doors down as well. One tip for would be renters, the front door sticks a bit, don’t be like me and think the code didn’t work the first couple times…. Push hard. Check-in was seamless and the host was great in answering any questions. We lived our time at the house and would certainly look to book again!

What a lovely place! The lake is gorgeous and the area is quiet and not touristy at all. Very relaxing. The cottage has huge windows facing the lake with gorgeous views. The dock was a wonderful place to watch the sunrise in the morning and the stars overhead at night. We would definitely like to return at a different time of year to experience the lake in another season. It's a hidden gem!
