Hampton Inn & Suites Columbus Polaris

I stayed here Tuesday night, September 30, 2025. This was my first time back in the area since late 2022. The hotel and rooms are still very nice, I loved my room on the 6th floor (even though the elevator call button isn't working) and was planning to stay two nights, but after my car and at least 18 others in our lot and even more in neighboring hotel lots, I will not be staying here again. If it were an isolated event I could understand, but this has been going on for over a year in this area and happened just three days before my stay. You would think by now hotels would at least have cameras installed, but no, they don't. They also have no security although the manager Beverly was very kind and assured me they were just approved by corporate to hire one, this week. I did see in reviews and in stories from local news outlets that this crime has been increasing here and other area hotels but of course I thought it wouldn't happen again so soon, and that surely the police and hotels have taken steps to prevent this. Those steps haven't yet changed anything. My room was comped for the one night I stayed, but that doesn't help me at all since my company paid for the room. I have to pay the deductible for the new windows in my personal car, plus with all the time spent with the insurance company, window company, car rental company, cleaning my car, and the police report, I've lost at least 20 hours this week. If I hear that this crime problem has been solved, I would definitely consider staying here in the future.

Secure your cars when you stay here! We were here with two cars and got lucky that they didn’t get broken into. Overnight from Saturday 9/27 to Sunday 9/28/2025 at least six cars & trucks in the Hampton Inn lot did as well as two in the neighboring Fairfield Inn lot. We heard from other hotel guests that it wasn’t the first time, it had also happened a couple nights before. The desk clerk at the Fairfield Inn where we had other members of our family staying said that it happens all the time! I don’t know if we would have stayed here if we had known this!! It seems like they primarily targeted family cars where things were visible on the inside and construction company pick up trucks that might have had tools inside. The hotel had a shop vac and helped to get all the broken glass etc out, but I can’t imagine having to deal with this while traveling!! If this is a known issue the hotels should get security patrolling the lots. We heard that there was camera footage but they were wearing face masks. When I did a quick google search I saw news reports about hotel parking lot car break ins in July as well as August 2025 in the Polaris area. As far as the hotel itself: We had the 2 queen bed sofa suite for our family of five and it was clean and spacious. The complimentary breakfast was good, complete with eggs, ham, biscuits and gravy, waffles and fresh cut up fruit (pineapple). The work out room is nice, two treadmills.

Not a great experience. Car broken into despite being in a well lit area in front of hotel. There were multiple vehicles that were hit that night! We learned that this is an on going problem that clearly needs to be addressed. Elevator not working properly. Had to call front desk every time we needed the elevator to pick us up on our floor. Housekeeping repeatedly knocked on our door early morning long before our check out time. Will not be returning!

I highly recommend this hotel! The location was perfect, it’s literally within 20 minutes of anything you could want to do. The pool is bigger than most hotels I’ve stayed at, towels were always stocked up and since my kid is a night owl we loved that it stayed open until 11pm. We stayed in a King Suite and it was the perfect size for our 2 year old to run around in. He could get all his energy out without having to take him to the lobby. Most importantly the staff was beyond accommodating! We accidentally left some stuff behind in the room after checking out and 5 hrs later they still had it and they were willing and able to shipped it back to us, of course we had to pay the shipping but it was completely worth it.

Needs a lot of maintenance. “Down” button doesn’t work in elevator so they told us to call to have elevator sent up and then get in room and toilet flush lever is broken so you have to take tank lid off to flush the toilet.

Did not like the breakfast. Options were limited and not enough variety. I’m most things like the fruit cocktail you could tell was from a can. Maybe add in some more oatmeal topping varieties, like granola. More choices with meat beside pork sausage. Area was clean but choices were sparse.
