Do NOT stay in room 326. Toilet valves for the entire floor must be in that room. Literally had the valve swoosh about every 10 minutes, must have served tea that evening. Went and slept in the car and finally got some rest. Hotel is mostly clean but dated with fit and finish subpar. Expect a Ritz Carlton price but a motel 6 experience. Staff was polite and guests were Vietnam Vets and family mostly so a good friendly crowd. Entire area is beyond sketch except this location

We stayed here for my nephews graduation from Fort Benning. Checkin was easy and the woman at the front desk was very accommodating as we were early. She was able to find us rooms on the same floor to be near each other. After this the stay was awful. I’m not sure what I missed as all the reviews are mostly excellent. The pool was closed. This was the number one reason we selected this hotel. No advance notice. They moved the pool furniture by the pet fecal matter garbage can. Hard to sit out with the smell. See the photo. I did receive notification from an email this morning the pool was opened at 3:30 on our second day. Certainly not in time to enjoy swimming and the sun. Our rooms. See the attached photos. Filth, mold, holes in the wall, cardboard under the furniture, non draining sink…certainly not a reflection of this brand. Again most of the reviews are excellent but certainly not my experience.

We had a wonderful experience at the Hampton Inn & Suites Columbus South Fort Benning. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating — they truly went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-maintained, and the breakfast was great each morning. If you’re visiting for your soldier’s graduation from Fort Benning, this is the perfect place to stay. It’s close to the base, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff understands what a special time this is for families. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to the area — we couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

I cannot say enough good things about the Hampton Inn by Hilton Columbus South Fort Benning! I accidentally booked our room for the wrong day, and even though the hotel was completely sold out, the staff went above and beyond to find us the very last room. Their kindness and compassion turned what could have been a stressful situation into a wonderful experience. From the moment we walked in, every staff member greeted us with warmth and a genuine “my pleasure,” making us feel like we were at a five-star resort. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, the fresh-baked cookies at the front desk were such a thoughtful touch, and the overall service exceeded every expectation. This is not just a hotel—it’s true hospitality at its finest. Thank you, Hampton Inn Columbus South Fort Benning, for treating us like family. We will definitely be back!

We stayed here for one night and would never stay again. The hotel itself is not that bad but the surrounding area looks like a 3rd world country and yes I have been to those countries. We felt very unsafe. We drove forward and backwards trying to find a place to eat but the areas have boarded up buildings & homes. The areas were very dirty so we went back to hotel and ate crackers. The hotel workers are great and very nice. The rooms are in need of serious updating. Carpet was old and dirty. Lights were so dim I gave up trying to read. If they would install some bright lights in the hotel entrance and front desk that would help. Breakfast was fine. I generally don’t write reviews but am just trying to be honest & help someone else to be aware of the area & situation. I read the great reviews posted before booking & was completely shocked.

A military celebration brought us here for my step son. We had some challenges due to a sold out hotel. We stayed from a Thursday to Monday. Hotel is clean, everyone was very nice and professional. Charlie from the front desk stood out above all, for her ability to multi - task the volume of customers to her willingness and great personality. She definitely made the visit that extra memorable something. She remembered us, our room and always very helpful. Thank you Hampton Inn Ft. Benning and thank you, Charlie.

What a pleasure! Adequate rooms, very clean, but the staff excels! Now, be aware that the hotel, indeed the entire town seems to cater to military families (?) , and young camouflagees swarm like a locust plague...AND there is no restaurant, bar, facilities close by. But the Military Museum, which is a Phenomenal experience is within walking distance. And the ambiance here is one of casual comfort while honoring the rigeur of the military life. The breakfasts are outstanding, enhanced by the twin sister servors who regale the house with acapella songs while you eat. It is on the very ground of Benning, and within 4 miles of the tactical commando stores that YOU WILL visit with your infantryman. I would recommend cruising to Phenix city or better still, downtown Columbus to find a variety of eating joints and a colorful main street walk. It is a bang for your $.

All the staff were absolutely outstanding. Charlie, in particular, was beyond fantastic. Professional, courteous, helpful,very friendly…they made you feel like you were known to them, like family, forever. I’ve stayed in many hotels throughout my personal and professional life, and this had to be THE BEST experience I’ve ever had. The hotel was so clean and in order. A very peaceful stay. And let me add once again, ALL the staff were over the top, helpful, and so friendly. PERFECT stay at The Hampton Inn Columbus, GA, South Fort Benning. Whoever owns/manages this property should be grateful for all their employees there. Our stay was August 20-22, 2025.
