Hyatt Place Columbus North

The hotel boasts a delicious breakfast with varied options. Guests appreciate the quiet rooms, spaciousness, and great water pressure. The staff is consistently friendly and helpful. Its prime location adds to its appeal.

On the plus side, the top 3 expectations for any hotel were met: clean, comfortable and quiet. In addition, the room was spacious and looked newly refurbished. The lighting was sufficient. However: When I first arrived I couldn’t find any bath towels and there was no where to actually put the towels while showering in the TINY bathroom. Sink was in separate area with no walls. I went down to the front desk and they gave me some, but then I saw that they were actually hiding IN the shower (why didn’t the front desk know this?), so no where to hang them after showering. Upon arrival, the room was freezing cold, and after trying to turn up the temperature for 5 minutes, I realized that the wall thermostat wasn’t connected to PTAC unit. The elevators felt dangerous by making noises, shaking, then stopping for like 10 seconds before opening. I thought that I had stepped into the Tower of Terror. Tiny refrigerator, no freezer section. No microwave in room. No way to cast to tiny TV or use streaming services. Wet bar had no hot water. Wi-Fi password wasn’t pointed out and it was unclear if any letters were capitalized. Sink didn’t drain well. Only 1 nightstand for 2 beds. Window shades allow a lot of light to penetrate, especially from the brightly lit parking lot. Lobby coffee was like brown water. Lame breakfast, although sadly average (lately) for this class of hotel.

Bed bugs found in room 403 on checkout morning. Staff confirmed their presence but the manager won't return my call. I had to call her and let her know because staff apparently didn't tell her, she said she'd reach out within 48 hours but it's been a week and no call.
