Fairfield Inn & Suites Columbus

We stopped to stay at this hotel after driving 6 hours from Orlando, FL where we finished a week long stay. We packed liked we were staying for a month ... ugh!!! Needless to say, due to the heat, we could not leave anything in the car and brought it all inside the hotel. We situated ourselves, unpacked what was needed and plopped down in front of the TV to relax. The TV did not work!!! Granted that a non-working TV does not make the stay! ... and the accommodations are worthy of high praise. So, called the front desk to explain our dilemma and since no maintenance staff were available to fix, we were told the best option would be to move to another room ... not exactly a happy camper at this point ... :( Well, the staff were very accommodating to work within their means ... with a special shout out to Darrin ... who helped us get moved ... he didn't just hand us new keys and watch, he actually helped! Kudos to Darrin for going above and beyond with determination to make our stay more enjoyable!!!

Although this hotel is old and is need of renovations, the service is excellent! We recently stayed there and had problems with our air conditioner and toilet. Upon notifying the front desk, Darius immediately came to check out everything and was apologetic and promptly moved us to another room. He personally made sure it had properly working AC and toilet. After settling in, we discovered that one of the tvs in our suite did not work. He was troubleshooting with the internet provider and manager, Idris, for over an hour and discovered that it was out for a few rooms in that area. Darius was again apologetic and offered to move us again! Since we had one tv working, we decided to stay in place! The customer service we received was superb! We met Idris, upon check out and told him about our experience. He too was so apologetic and personable! The entire staff had the same caring and sweet attitude, including Regina who ran the complimentary breakfast bar! We will come back again because of how we were treated. I can’t wait for them to renovate their property! This will definitely be our go to hotel to visit family!

The hotel has bedbugs. Both me and my husband had bedbug bites that appeared quickly after our stay. I found two bedbugs one adult and one immature bedbug. I put them into a plastic cup and brought to the front desk. I asked the front desk to have the manager call me but they never did.

Room smelled of mildew, carpet was filthy, bathroom was filthy, tub/shower had peeling caulk, leaky shower curtain and bathroom ceiling was stained and there was zero ventilation which caused the bathroom to be wet and damp on ebery surface. One washer and dryer for entire hotel. Absolutely terrible. Good news is that there is a Holiday Inn Express nearby

Great area. Mall and other shopping near by. The staff was very nice. Property and rooms were very clean. Only thing I disliked was the tub/shower area. It was clean but but just needs some remodeling. I would definitely stay there again.

The hotel was clean, check in was easy and my visit was great. I will be back soon
