I’ve been traveling since July until the present. On one of my business trips to Columbia I had my best customer service experience since I’ve been a Titanium Elite member of Marriott Bonvoy. Nila at the front desk was superb in checking me in my room and also every day on my way to my meetings greeted me as if I were home. This was not my experience throughout my travels but from on I will be staying at the Aloft Columbia Harbison. Also housekeeping was always polite. I can tell that the customer service training is really implemented at this property.

I am writing this review because during my stay it’s ok up until my last day this past weekend. As we was sleep 5am some homeless guy open our door with a key fob to our room once he saw me he walked back out left and was in the back of building how he got that key fob don’t know, called to the front desk let the gentleman know some guy just opening our door to our room and proceeded to walk in until he saw me. The guy that was on duty stated that he came up to our floor walk around and didn’t see anyone when I came downstairs. I went back to my room my key fob didn’t work anymore to get in once my wife let me in so when we saw the guy out back I went back down to the front desk to let them know the guy was out back I took the second key that stayed in the room the whole time after confronting the gentleman that came in our room which he had all black on and a black big bag when he came into our room at 5am Sunday morning while we was sleep stated that he was homeless but again he had a key fob to our room. My guess we was put in that room for a reason and all of suddenly our key fob didn’t work but this homeless guy key fob did that is a coincidence. As we was coming home Sunday we looked up the reviews and read everyone’s reviews they was bad almost similar to ours. They called South Carolina police they came to the hotel made a report on the incident. They call the manager to the hotel she came that talk I was talk to her and she apologized but that is very unacceptable for us to wake at 5am Sunday morning and a stranger in our room. This homeless person was talking to someone in a silver suv before I came down and confronted him but the suv left but left him in the ally behind the wall where the swimming pool was at. The manager stated that she was gonna not charge me for Saturday for our inconvenience but I haven’t seen it yet. What I saw that they took the whole amount and we was compensated for our inconvenience. But it’s all good we gonna move on but we will never come and stay at this hotel again. Anyone that goes and stay at this hotel all I can say is be careful keep one eye open at all times because like I said earlier in this review something is suspicious about this situation in how he got that key and all of suddenly our keys didn’t work. We very dissatisfied after that happened. I think this was a set up for this guy to rob us at 5am. Like I earlier the guy was in all black and had a black bag and the key fob to our room. Plus the guy admitted when we confronted him that it was him that came in our room. By the time the police came the homeless guy left.

The bar was nice and clean as well as the room. The bartender, Kristen was amazing and very entertaining! The new owners have definitely turned this place around!! Highly recommend! Theres also really good bar food. Sports on all the tvs, pool table and bar games. Kristen makes an amazing Honey Pina Colada!

Overll it's a nice hotel. My biggest complaint was the bed!!!! The bed had a freaking sink hole in it! I called to see if we could get another room and was told they had no more suites. We were so uncomfortable that night! They could do a little better with the cleaning. There were a few spots on the floor by the door that was over looked by the mop. There were some stains on the couch and the ironing board was nasty! Would I stay again......probably not.

Room had a smell that really bothered my husband. Door to bathroom and hall needs renovated. Shower was very nice!
