Mercure Properties in Cologne

Location, room, service, and breakfast were all excellent. Unfortunately, the elevator in the guesthouse was out of order. I was immediately offered a luggage service and free entry to the sauna, which I thought was very thoughtful. The breakfast is superb. A wide variety of dishes and extras, such as waffle batter for making your own. The room was very large and well-equipped.

The room was quite spacious and modern for European standards, and the lobby and restaurant had a contemporary feel. The location is decent; it's a 20-minute walk to the cathedral, but there are plenty of bus and metro lines right across the street that go to the train station and attractions like Dragon's Lair. There's also a supermarket about 200 meters away, and the surrounding area is relatively quiet.

There is air conditioning in Germany, which is a lifesaver in the hot summer... The front desk is very friendly and the facilities are not dragging down the four-star rating. The location is very good, the city center is convenient for transportation, and there are all kinds of supermarkets around. Five-star recommendation, I don't know why Google's rating is so low... The front desk is very polite

Struggled to get through to the hotel as the phone number on the app used to make booking was in correct. The hotel is easy to find and transport links from the airport I give a 10/10 plus connection to the city was super easy. Upon arrival, the service desk staff were pleasant and apologised. Finally checked in and the room was clean and well done. However, my room was facing the major road and extremely noisy during the entire stay as the road is a busy one.  Ordered a late dinner and disappointed with my under done beef patty, the bun it came with required an electric knife to get through. I did complain and an apology was given.  Now, the hotel room doors bang whenever they’re being closed and made my stay unbearable. Something definitely needs to be done as I was put off!! Before retiring to bed, I hung the notice to not be disturbed..alas! the following morning after breakfast I just wanted to have a quiet time but I was rudely interrupted, disturbed coupled with the loud doors as the cleaners went about their inspections 2 x in a space of 10 minutes.  I would have loved to stay here on future visits but it’s a NO!!  The breakfast was lovely, sauna and swimming pool facilities too. I did not use the gym. Otherwise it’s in a good safe location.
