This lovely property has a real country house feel. Staff are keen to oblige. Public spaces are really special and there is an amazing spa. Michelin star dinner in the restaurant was lovely. One down point was requesting an iron and ironing board which never arrived. Great room service breakfast.

The hotel itself is stunning and the gardens are breathtaking! However, this is a five star luxury hotel and I do believe there were some things lacking. Trying to book anything with the staff is near impossible. I tried for two weeks before arriving to book horseback riding, and during my entire stay had to keep following up and asking, and just never ended up doing it. We were there for four days and when I inquired about archery, they gave us one option available, and it was the same day of our arrival and we wouldn’t even have gotten there yet. They include these on the website like there are endless options and take days to respond. We did not stay during the high season! The rooms were very pretty and given the age and history of the hotel, I thought they were lovely. However, I was a little surprised that they didn’t have a converter in the room given there were no USB or USB-C ports. I understand with the older hotels that’s not uncommon, but I would’ve thought for a five star luxury hotel they would provide you a converter. I stayed here on a mother-daughter trip and we went to the Playhouse and there were over 20 bikes. With that being said, not a single one fit my nine-year-old daughter. And I couldn’t find one for an adult that I could ride that didn’t have a flat tire or broken gears. I booked a treatment at the spa and it was amazing! Very pleased with that. My last issue was that they had very limited hours for children to be able to use the pool. I believe it was 9 AM - 10 AM and 3 PM - 6 PM. Given that everything to do within an hour drive closes by 5 o’clock at the latest, those hours are inconvenient. The pool was literally empty and my daughter and I couldn’t go in there. She’s quiet and exceptionally well behaved so this was frustrating. Again, I’m not sure why a five star luxury hotel couldn’t accommodate us swimming for 30 minutes when there was literally no one else in the pool.

really terrible experience - reception has been most unhelpful - it took me a week to try to book massage and they did not help in the end. Seems the atmosphere is very tense and not great for relaxing

This Hotel really is a treasure not to be missed. A wonderful setting in the most beautiful of grounds. From arrival to departure you will be amazed at the beauty you are and will be surrounded by. Top class food presented to excite any taste. The vey tops in staff in all areas of this five star hotel. Well done to each and everyone.
