Come back Martin - 2 night stay - never again under this new ownership. Bed very uncomfortable and has seen better days - wife fell out on first night as there was no mattress side support through useage over years. Minimal Breakfast - Wife - wheatabix with glass of Greek Yoghurt/1 Poached Egg on toast + £1.50 for additional Poached egg/ Toast and marmalade changed for extra slice of toast + another jar of marmalade £3.00 Myself - Wheatabix with Glass of Greek Yoghurt/ Smoked salmon and scrambled egg/ toast and marmalade. Out for the day and return to find ROOM NOT SERVICED having to make our own bed etc etc. Day 2 morning - Wife - Wheatabix and Greek Yoghurt we brought in our own banana, Raspberries and Blueberreis/ 1x bacon, 1 x Sausage + 1 x Poached Egg - myself Wheatabix with Greek Yoghurt plus our own fruit/ 1xSausage,1x1/2 tomato, 2xPoached Egg = £1.50 for additional Poached Egg Total Breakfast Extras over duration of 2 night stay £6.00. Ie. We had NO FULL ENGLISH but we were not offered refund - limited breakfast Selection from Menu (No buffet - costs money) there was NO Fruit NO Yoghurts etc etc - all apparently subject to Sell by date costs and thus reduces waste. Quality of served food good. No consideration of discount for NO ROOM SERVICE but at least the duty lady removed the £6.00 Breakfast Surcharge with an apology - new owner Belinda did hot make an appearance - I wonder why?? Cost for 2 Night B and B £220. Not the cheapest and certainly NOT the Best. We visit my elderly sister in Pulborough a couple of times a year and have stayed overnight at The Labouring Man - never again.

Had a great lunch here. The four of us that had it loved the spiced potato soup with burnt(?) chive oil. The accompanying bread was lovely to. My Moroccan Roasted Vegetable Salad was good, particularly with a side of fries. One of went for the Smoked Mackerel Pâté and really enjoyed it. All the puddings were commended. We're not local but it would be god to get back and try some of the bar bites!

Coldwaltham is so lucky to have a real village inn. Chose to stay here with friends as so much to see within striking distance. Comfortable, quiet rooms, generous hospitality tray and toiletries. A good bar obviously very popular with locals, dining area where genuinely home cooked food was on the menu. Pies were great, lovely fresh fish, pasta and a chef prepared to adapt when requested. Breakfast options equally as good. Quality ingredients and generous portions. Lovely and friendly team who own and run this delightful hostelry. Would have no hesitation in recommending and staying again.

A lovely stay. A nice pub, with plenty of outside seating, and nice atmosphere inside. Good selection of drinks. A separate dining area made the evening meal feel more like eating in a restaurant Vs a pub. The food and service was very good. Dishes or the day and the specials added to an already sufficient menu. Breakfast was also very tasty. We stayed in room #1. It was much larger than expected, and with a sofa. It was clean and comfortable. There is good sized car park at the rear of the property.

We booked for 18/19-3-25. Room was stone cold so we sat in anoracs. Water was stone cold. Reported to host - they said go out and when you come back it will be fine. We came back it wasn't. They finally sorted it out but it was taking ages to come on and water was still stone cold. They said they've had had heating problems! If so why weren't we advised beforehand?? We left and found a better hotel, which, as it happened was also £25 cheaper. Very unprofessional.

Unprofessional. We left. No heating, room was very cold, we had to sit with anoraks on.. Hot water was stone cold. Couldn't wash/shower/bath.They said they "had heating problems" and obviously knew that long before we arrived. Being reasonable people, we gave them a few hours to fix it but it didn't happen very quickly. Very unprofessional. Hotel we went to was £25 cheaper and much better.

A gem of a place to stay. A gem of a place to stay and excellent value for money. Owners and staff are lovely - nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is very good and the attached bar/restaurant is well stocked and the food is excellent. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.
