We opted for a different hotel for our trip to the Iowa State Fair this year. The reviews of this hotel were much better than our previous hotel, and were accurate. Our king suite was spacious, although the bathroom could use a little more counter space, and the tub floor was curiously higher than expected. The bed was very comfortable, but again was quite high for us shorter folks. The breakfast was quite varied, with hot and cold offerings. As we were packing up to check out, a fire alarm was accidentally set off. We had to wait outside until the local fire department arrived to check out the building and turn off the alarm. It was startling, yet reassuring that people obeyed it and that there was a fast response. The stay was worth the money, clean, welcoming, safe.

We were here with other athletes for the National Senior Games. Our room was spotless and spacious. Room was equipped with enough power outlets to accommodate laptops and other devices. Breakfast was excellent each day, and the attendant kept the dining area clean and stocked - not always easy with a bunch of hungry athletes coming and going!

Quick trip
Checked in super late but staff was amazing. Stayed here a month prior when the hotel was full and it was nice then and even better when not fully booked. Was just a quick girls trip and needed somewhere close to the Horizon Event Center in Clive.

The property was in a nice area and the room was a decent size. Beds were fine and the free breakfast was very good. I felt the pet fee was pretty high compared to other hotels.

The digital AC controll system did not work properly in the second room, but the manager, i think his name was Mike. Was very helpful and accomidating when we voiced concern about this. He fixed the issue promptly and we had an excelent rest if our visit.

Nice hotel........minor complications
We got checked in quickly, but when we got to our room the key cards wouldn't open the door! So we had to go down and get them prepared again. (The gal at the desk tried to blame me for getting them too close to my phone......I know better than that!!). So they got us into the room and we got settled. Nice room. Great bathroom. We went to supper and when we returned, once again our room would not open. (I keep hotel key cards in my wallet. Well away from my phone.) Fortunately a hard working housekeeper was vacuuming in our hallway and let us in without having to go all the way to the front desk.
All in all was a decent hotel, but the key issue was frustrating to say the least!

Very friendly staff, the bed was amazingly comfortable, the air conditioner was kind of noisy… I imagine we would stay here again when we're in the area.

It was ok
It was a nice hotel, but I’d say outdated for the price. I was upgraded to a room with a jacuzzi tub upon check-in, which would have been amazing if I wasn’t staying with my daughter. The tub was out in the open in the room, so unfortunately didn’t get used. The upgrade was still appreciated, nonetheless. While getting ready for bed, the smoke detector in our room went off. Not the main hotel fire alarms, but the white home detector in the middle of the room. I fanned it with a towel and it stopped, but it was a mystery as why it happened. We were not showering or running hot water and definitely not smoking anything, so I’m not sure if a neighboring room was smoking and that is what did it? That was alarming, but it didn’t continue so I was eventually able to relax. The shower had a shower head on each side, which was cool, but the water pressure was nonexistent. The bed was ok, but I did wake up stiff and sore. I also had just drove from Colorado, so I’m not entirely blaming the bed. Overall, it did the job. I don’t think I would stay again if it was priced as high as it was thought, but I would definitely stay for a lower price.
