Opposite the road from a supermarket and part of a large venue. Can be noise at night but the staff will communicate with you in advance if there’s an event on. Nice room and nice bathroom

Warm welcome, room lovely, clean and modern. Complex fabulous, lovely long bar, farm shop with cafe, cinema and bowling alley. Breakfast was great, local produce and served well. Only issue was noise from grid lid in road outside, asked to be moved but unable as hotel full during our stay.

If you're looking for a peaceful night’s sleep, 1823 Spinning Block is not the place to find it. Paid for parking—still got a ticket. I guess that’s their idea of a welcome gift? My room? Think sauna meets kennel. The only radiator was in the bathroom and stayed on from 3pm to 10am, turning the whole place into a human slow cooker. Opening the windows for relief? Nope—signs warned of midges ready to invade like tiny winged commandos. So I lay there sweating, listening to the wedding party upstairs treat the hallway like a racetrack for unsupervised children. From 9pm to 2:30am, it was like living below a soft play centre. Tried calling reception to ask for help—but surprise! No phone in the room. I’d have had to send a smoke signal or run a message down myself in my pyjamas. As for the view… let’s just say "urban charm" doesn’t quite cover a back alley where local dogs came to do their business. Nothing says ‘luxury escape’ like watching a Labrador take its morning dump. In short: overpriced, overheated, and underwhelming. Save your money—and your sleep.

We visited friends who lived in Clitheroe & the very central hotel was recommended to us. Great location, surrounded by bars, restaurants & a cinema. Check in was straight forward, the room with bathroom on suite were excellent and very clean. Food from the adjacent food hall was very good. The hotel & adjacent area is historic and clearly great effort has been placed on retaining as much of the historic features as possible. Our only complaint is that half the town together with wedding parties use this location a lot consequently it gets very noisy, and stays that way until 11pm (we stayed on a Saturday). As we did not go to bed until after 11pm this was not a problem.

Room was dusty. No remote for the tv. Boiling hot with a sign stating “keep the windows shut due to midges.” Went for breakfast and was told only high 2’ diameter table was available, we asked to be reseated twice but was refused. We had to move drinks and condiments away just so we could fit the breakfast plate on the table. Not a pleasant experience.

Booked this for an overnight stay whilst attending a wedding at Browsholme Hall about 4.5 miles away. Checked in online the night before so when we got to the hotel it was a quick process to get our room key. The receptionist was very friendly. Our room was spacious and clean. Breakfast in the morning was good. Overall a really lovely hotel with very pleasant staff.

Lovely stay
Nice large rooms. Bed was comfy. Loccitane products in the bathroom!
We attended a wedding there so was great to just be able to practically crawl to bed after.
Only negatives were the shower enclosures are not really designed to stop the flood of water onto the bathroom floor. And the room got a little hot at night.
Breakfast was delicious! Staff were very friendly.
