Days Inn by Wyndham Clemson

I don’t know how this got 4.5 stars on this site. This place is totally gross! Walked in and immediately smelled stale smoke. Floors sticky. The bathroom is a whole other horror scene. Door and walls were filthy. Floor looks like it hadn’t been cleaned since the early 80’s. Thank God we are only staying here for one night bc I would have immediately moved hotels. Going to file a complaint with Wyndham bc this is really like the Bates Motel.

The place is a streetside $50/night motel at bast. Friday a. Check-in took a long time because one of their computers was down. b. The WiFi was intermittent so they made me call their internet provider who couldn’t help and told me they would call back and never did. I had to use my hotspot to work c. I couldn’t get on web calls for work due to the hot spot slower connectivity. d. I asked to speak with a manager, and they said there was no manager on-site but there would be on Saturday. Saturday a. I had no hot water when I took a shower. b. They said that when the hotel was fully booked (parents’ weekend at Clemson) and couldn’t move me. c. The front desk woman said that when the hotel is fully booked, the hot water can run out. d. I asked to speak with a manager, and they said no manager was available. e. After I left for the day, someone from the hotel called me and said that I could move rooms. I said I was already out for the day and wouldn’t be back until 11:30pm and I was not going to change rooms because I didn’t need the Internet because it was a Saturday, and the front desk woman already said that when the hotel was fully sold out, there was no hot water. f. I got home late, and the TV didn’t work so I had to get the worker to come in and fix it. Sunday a. The hotel cleaner woke me up at 9:30am to clean the room and check-out was at 11:00am. b. I asked to speak with the manager, and they said there was no manager was available. c. I insisted over and over to speak with the manager and the woman behind the desk threatened to call the police. Other notes: a. The walls are paper thin, and you can hear everyone talking in the rooms next door. b. The room door is crooked so you can see outside and hear everything going on in the parking lot. c. The breakfast that was included looked inedible. I tried over and over to get some sort of discount because they did not hold up to their end of the rental agreement. They refused and told me to take it up with corporate.

There were no vending machines. I had to walk to another hotel. The property was a bit run down. The bed was not the most comfortable. The shower dripped al night.

The room appeared ok at first… the gap around the door was crazy, the bathroom was GROSS! The back of the door was very dirty, paint missing. It looked like they found a door at the bump and put it up. The seams between the floor and tub appeared to be wood or dirt, but the worse part was the black mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. In the morning my clothes felt damp and smelled funny. It was so very disappointing.
