More than 500 tracks or traces as they are called the parasitological world have been plotted at the site at Clayton Lake State Park.The Clayton Lake site also contains worm burrows fossilized prints of plants and ripples in the rocks made by water filling the shallow mud flats.
Clayton is a recreational paradise with the town doubling many times of the year for hunting seasons. We are conveniently located on Highway 87 --The Santa Fe Trail.
Our 31 room hotel is located on the east side of Clayton. We offer check in anytime. We offer non-smoking rooms with one king and two queen beds 27 inch TVs with cable and interior corridors.

Clean, recently renovated, quiet, comfortable. The staff was polite and professional. Plenty of parking. Restaurants in walking distance of motel. I left before breakfast was served so I can't comment on it.

Believe the bad reviews. Reserved two rooms for 3 days. Woke up to bed bugs. Took down to desk and as other reviews state NO ONE there. Taped the bug to the pillow for staff to see. Spent 12 hrs trying to contact to cancel rooms with 0 response. Theft of funds at its finest.

Review: Average Stay with Room for Improvement
My recent stay at this hotel was decent but unremarkable. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable, which made for a satisfactory night’s sleep. Check-in was smooth, and the staff were polite, though not particularly attentive or proactive. However, the hotel lacked any standout amenities, and the overall atmosphere felt a bit dated. The breakfast selection was basic, with limited options that didn’t cater to varied tastes. While there were no major issues, there was nothing memorable or exceptional about the experience. It’s an okay choice for a short stay, but I’d explore other options for a more elevated experience.

I've stayed at a lot of Super 8's over the years. I've always enjoyed Super 8. But this place is the nastiest dirtiest hotel I've ever stayed at. It was well over a 100 bucks a night. I will never stay at this place again and seriously suggest you don't either. Just pay the extra money and stay at the Best Western or the Quality Inn right down the street. I swear on everything this is the nastiest place I have ever stayed. I got bit by something while I was asleep. It caused a large red bump on my arm. I have been treating it with cortisone and 91% rubbing alcohol. It has been leaking fluid out of it for the last 24 hours. Seriously stay away from the disgusting hotel. I guarantee they don't wash anything. The beds and rooms are disgusting. If you don't believe me ask to see a room. They simply just move a piece of furniture and look behind it. The hotel is disgusting and the health department should step in. This place is absolutely ridiculously filthy.

This was jus advertised enjoyed visiting with the owner and a tour of the property upon arrival . If you like historic places this is for you! Very comfortable we slept better here than anywhere on our trip. Will definitely stay here on our next trip!!

The room was ok and beds comfortable but attention to details is missing. All the corners were very dirty and it had exposed wires in the ceiling.

There’s a Mexican restaurant next door, unfortunately it was closed when we arrived , but there was another two minutes away. The hotel was great for the price. No cofee machine was available in the morning.
