The Common Man Inn & Restaurant

Warmth. Friendliness, and Thoughtful Comfort I cannot say enough about my stay at The Common Man Inn. Lodged in a truly remarkable renovation of an extremely well-built building, the inn exudes w elcome due to the care with which those in charge have tried to accommodate their guests. I don;t know when I have spent such a comfortable night in an inn or hotel. Amy and Sam were incarnations of hospitality a nd graciousness, obviously expressing management's philosophy. At breakfast, Amy managed to create the impression that all of us present (most others being members of a wonderful family gathered for a memorial service for one of them) were her guests.

Clare was very attentive to our every need. From arrival to departure she made sure our experience was purrfect.

It was beautiful however the hot tub was dirty and the continental breakfast was not great.

Common Man is a fun, unique place to stay with beautiful surroundings, yummy food and friendly staff. Our second stay here and we hope to return again! Staying in the stone suite was really neat.

We had the most delightful stay at The Common Man Inn in Claremont, NH, during our New England leaf-peeping adventure. Housed in a charming old textile mill, the inn offers a perfect blend of history and modern comfort. The transformation of the mill into this lovely inn was impressive, with beautifully maintained features that add character to the space. Our room was cozy and comfortable, with a bed that felt like a dream after a long day of travel. The hand soap in the bathroom smelled wonderful, a small but thoughtful touch that made us feel extra pampered. We were greeted warmly by Naimke, who made us feel right at home, and the adorable inn cat, Claire, added a special, personal touch to the experience. It was such a nice surprise to find that the inn offers warm apple cider in the lobby—a perfect treat after a chilly autumn day! Out of all the places we stayed on our New England trip, this was by far the best experience. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. If you're looking for a great place for dinner, don't miss the attached Common Man restaurant. The food was absolutely fantastic—comforting, hearty, and exactly what we needed after a day of sightseeing. We’ll definitely be returning to The Common Man Inn next time we’re in the area. It’s a hidden gem, and we couldn’t have asked for a better stop on our journey. Highly recommend!

The hotel was clean and cozy and the staff were very friendly. Loved the attached restaurant too. Continental breakfast was good. We would definitely stay there again.
