I stayed in so many hotels in the UK this time, but this was the only one that ******. This is basically a family hotel run by Indians, not a chain hotel, and I was really fooled. We are a family of three with one child. They said the room was too small to accommodate us, so they charged us an extra two nights of 1,200 RMB. But then they said there were no rooms available and they only changed the room for the second night. Why did they charge us two extra nights? This problem does not exist when staying in other hotel chains. This kind of thing happens in small family hotels, and Ctrip should not list such hotels. Comparing the service and price, it is better to book a chain hotel if possible. The facilities are also very average, just a mountain hut, small and damp. As for the location, it is very close to Windermere Railway Station as the crow flies, but this is a deception. In fact, you can't get there. You need enough time to take the ferry, and then you have to transfer to the bus. Transportation is very inconvenient. We came out of the train station and took a taxi around the lake for 30 minutes, which cost 400 RMB.

The service is first-class, but the hotel is in a remote location, which is very inconvenient if you don't drive yourself. The hotel has a bar service, and many nearby guests come to eat and drink

Just recently arrived back with my partner from a 4 night stay, this is my second time staying here. I absolutely love it,the hotel room was clean with a very large bed and a nice spacious bathroom. Had a lovely view of the countryside from our window. The food was great and a good selection of alcohol too. But the best part of the stay was the staff, they are all lovely and helpful and always happy to help with anything, and always take time to have a chat with you, they make you feel so welcome!! And gave us a free dessert on our last night too, which was very much appreciated!🙂. Cannot wait to come back again next year!

We recently visited this establishment on June 29th at 18:00 after calling ahead to confirm that everything I wanted was on the menu. To my disappointment, upon arrival, I was informed that they had run out of roast potatoes, which are a key component of a traditional Sunday roast. Instead, they offered chips as a substitute. Naturally, I was extremely disappointed and questioned why I wasn't informed about this when I called ahead. I was told that the chef had only just arrived for the 6 PM serving. My immediate response was, "How do you run out of potatoes?" To my surprise, the reply was that it was apparently due to the shape of the potatoes. Just wow. So, chips must be frozen then. This lack of preparation and communication is quite frustrating, especially since I took the time to ensure that my meal would be as expected. A Sunday roast without roast potatoes just doesn't feel right. I hope they can improve their inventory management and communication in the future. I did notice that the owner wasn't present during this visit. The last time we went, we had an amazing food experience and were told he runs a tight ship. I will consider returning, but I hope management reads this to turn a negative experience into a positive change. Kind regards, Grant Carter-Moore

We arrived at 2.30 for lunch after a long walk. As we collected a menu, one of the waiter very abruptly asked what we were doing. We replied that we were hoping to eat lunch. At which he barked NO were not serving food even though the menu clearly said food served till 3pm. We later asked another waiter who confirmed the menus were the old menu, and they no longer served food after 2 pm. Other customers sat in the garden and were also complaining about the rude service and no food.

Very friendly staff and nice and clean The menu for breakfast and dinner was limited as to choice and could do with having an alternative some days I asked for a sandwich at 3.15pm and was told the kitchen was closed even though their information page states soup and sandwiches until 4.00pm We stayed in room no2 and we are active 70 year olds but found getting out from the shower/bath was a big step and waiting for an accident to happen

Went for an evening meal here. Really impressed. The family run establishment is friendly, greeting us as we came in. We were seated near the windows, with lovely views. The menu was a great mix of pub classics and a couple Mauritian dishes. I had the Mauritian curry and it was excellent. My only criticism would be the white wine we ordered wasn’t chilled enough. Overall highly recommend if in the area.
