Premier Inn Clacton-On-Sea (Seafront)

Family trip to the seaside we came over fireworks weekend & the staff were amazing Check in was easy we had a lovely family room looking at the pier! Breakfast was great with lots to choose from! We loved our stay

Me and my son arrived Friday afternoon, check in was swift and spot on, my wife arrived around 9pm, then we found an issue with the TV in our room. The problem we had was the TV remote didn't work with our TV, I appreciate we didn't book a weekend away to watch the TV, but with a 7 year old it's handy in the morning and evening when you get back to bath/shower and relax before bedtime. This issue was reported 4 times throughout the weekend, yet nothing was done, the only thing the staff could do was give us multiple remote controls (think we tried 12 remotes) and none of them worked. Staff were apologetic and very nice, but seemed clueless as to how to sort this issue out, no fix nor compensation was offered or done. We use Premier Inn all over the country, as they are normally a dependable and reliable brand, but this left us some what feeling at a loss and questioning the Premier Inn ethos. I also question, why you feel the need to charge £8 for 24 hours parking, it's a hotel car park!, as we had to take 2 cars the parking was for 3 nights, which cost us an extra £48, again found this charge rather offensive and unnecessary, may be put a barrier on the car park entrance so only guests can use it, just a thought.
