A Wonderful Stay at the Lowfield Inn – A Hidden Gem on the English-Welsh Border We had a fantastic stay at the Lowfield Inn and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Our family room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with plenty of room to relax, including a sofa. The bed was especially comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep in a quiet and peaceful setting. The inn features a lovely common area and a roof terrace with a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside. The scenery is stunning and perfect for enjoying long walks along the border between England and Wales. The pub itself is a true highlight—offering a great selection of traditional cask ales and a very welcoming beer garden where you can enjoy the evening sun. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, and the staff are genuinely helpful and accommodating. We particularly appreciated the thoughtful touches, such as pencils and paper provided for children. As for the food: it was excellent and exceeded our expectations. The menu offers a wonderful mix of traditional English pub fare and Indian dishes, all prepared with creativity and care. The starters were delicious, the mains were generous and satisfying, and the desserts were absolutely indulgent. The children’s menu was also well thought out and very appealing. Breakfast was equally impressive, with a wide selection and very generous portions—no one left hungry! There’s also plenty of parking space, which made everything even easier. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return the next time we’re in the area.

We spent 1 night at Lowfield inn on the way to a wedding. It was first class. Lovely room, great service, fabulous evening meal and breakfast (vegetarian). Would thoroughly recommend.

Easy going and friendly. Great place to stay, parked motorbike at the front to the right, all good. Nice ales and food was very good. Breakfast was made by a dedicated chef who has worked there for 15 years. Cannot find fault. Only minor thing was the bathroom was smelly in the Horse room, maybe a sewerage leak or something, but looks spotless.

Good little hotel. A great place to come for a night stay when attending a wedding. Good location for where we needed to be. Big rooms- we had a family room with a double sofa bed and double bed. Lovely shared balcony area. Staff were super helpful and breakfast was yummy. Good value for the price.

Pleasant stay. Lots of free parking. Above a nice pub. Outside the room window was an air conditioning unit or generator which meant it was too noisy to leave the window open which was a shame as it was a warm day. Apart from that I’d recommend and stay again.

Fabulous couple of days Amazing food in the restaurant, comfortable spacious room with lovely communal terrace. Very clean. Only downfall was on night 1 the pub alarm went off at midnight and 3am and as no staff sleep on site, we just had to put up with it which resulted in a sleepless night
