Red Lion Tavern
"It's a coffee shop located in an old building. Upon check-in, I was given a small loft room; it was so small I could barely stand upright without being near the bed. It was also significantly different from the pictures shown on the booking page. When I requested a room change, the hotel said there were no rooms available. I later complained to Ctrip and received prompt feedback and compensation."
Hyll Hotel
"When I booked this hotel, I found that there were no comments in the comment area. After reading the hotel introduction, I thought this country hotel should be okay. As a result, I was very disappointed. Friends, don't book this hotel again. Not only is the room moldy and damp, but the space is also short. If you don't pay attention, you will hit your head. And the hotel is extremely dishonest. We arrived at the hotel on the afternoon of July 21st. The receptionist took us to see the room first. The room was on the second floor. My child and I were looking forward to it. As soon as we opened the door, we smelled a lot of moldy and damp smell. The waiter immediately opened the window, and the light was not good. At that time, I negotiated with the waiter whether we could change the room. The waiter took us to see a standard room, which also smelled moldy. So we decided to negotiate with the hotel to stay only one night today and not tomorrow. At that time, when we were having dinner, the hotel manager took the initiative to communicate with us face to face and confirmed that the room fee for the 22nd could be refunded to us (see the picture of the translator for details). . On the night of the 21st, we had to live in this moldy and damp room. The room has a sloping roof, and the two sides of the bed are sloping roofs. If you don't pay attention, you will hit your head if you stand up straight. The most annoying thing is that there is no shower room in the bathroom. You can only stand in the bathtub to take a shower. You can't stand up straight because your head is on the roof. You hit your head when you look up. It's the first time I've encountered such a weird room with a room fee of more than 2,000 yuan. On the evening of the 21st, I applied for early check-out on the Ctrip platform. The next day we had breakfast and checked out. The hotel didn't respond on the platform until 6 pm. The Ctrip staff called me twice to tell me that they had not contacted the hotel yet and asked me to wait a little longer. Later, Ctrip called again and said that the agent had contacted the hotel and replied that the person who communicated with me yesterday was not their manager, and they would not refund the room fee on the 22nd. I was stunned. The manager they called at the front desk communicated with us. There were only a few guests there besides the hotel staff. Could someone pretend to be the hotel manager? They promised well yesterday, but changed today. It's really inconsistent! Too dishonest! I should have recorded their manager earlier. Fortunately, my English is not very fluent, and I used a translator when communicating. There are screenshots. Otherwise, I really can't explain it clearly. On the evening of the 22nd, Ctrip staff kept communicating with me, saying that their supervisor would come forward to solve the matter tomorrow. The next day, which was around 9 o'clock today, Ctrip replied that they would refund the room fee to me first, and they would discuss and coordinate the matter with the hotel and the agent later. Summary of the whole thing: The hotel is dishonest, the hotel did not inform me in advance of any defects in the room, and the actual room did not match the price at all. Ctrip staff are responsible and trustworthy."
Three Ways House Hotel
"Have stayed twice at The three Ways House Hotel and the service was excellent both times. Rooms are spotless, spacious and comfortable. The food was delicious and the staff were welcoming and professional. Nikki Blyth"
Woolmarket House Hospitality Limited
"We stayed for 1 night whilst attending a wedding in the area. Sarah was really helpful in adjusting our booking when we had a last minute change. The room was beautifully appointed, really clean and a super bathroom with excellent shower pressure (and praise be both an overhead shower head and and excellent adjustable handheld shower head). Lovely breakfast in the dining room, requested the day before. We had a great sleep very comfortable bed and very quiet for being in the centre of the town. My only comment was the duvet was a little lumpy and could perhaps do with a change. As the wadding had settled unevenly despite a good shake ! But this was very minor. Would definitely recommend and return to this lovely neck if the woods"

The Ebrington Arms
"My partner and I (a couple in our mid-50s) stayed at The Ebrington Arms from Friday 20th February for three nights, and from the moment we arrived we knew we had found somewhere truly special. As we walked up to the beautiful village pub we were absolutely blown away by the building and its surroundings. The welcome we received was incredibly warm and genuine – kind, friendly and instantly reassuring. Within minutes we felt as though this would be our home for the next few days. When we were shown to our room the view literally brought tears to my eyes. The room was cosy, immaculate and so thoughtfully prepared. In fact, the entire place was spotless throughout our stay – it was clearly cleaned to the highest standard every single day. After a much longer journey than expected (over three hours longer!), we decided to stay in for dinner on our first night. Luckily there was space for us in the bar area and what a wonderful setting it was – a cosy fire at one end and a beautiful bay window at the other. It felt incredibly romantic and welcoming. We spent time chatting with some of the locals, who were such a lovely group of people. One wonderful local lady was especially helpful and gave us fantastic recommendations for places to visit over the next few days. Our meal that evening was exquisite. We both had a starter and a main and everything was beautifully prepared and full of flavour. Breakfast the following morning was an experience in itself – absolutely outstanding. Everything was perfect, from the quality of the food to the relaxed atmosphere. By this point we had met more of the team and already felt like part of the family. We spent the next day exploring the local area and returned late in the evening. Thankfully we had booked a table earlier that morning and ordered the Chateaubriand. Quite simply, it was unbelievable. The beef was exceptional, the sauce rich and delicious, the chips perfectly crisp and the greens cooked beautifully. Every element was spot on. We paired it with the house red which complemented the dish perfectly. We would highly recommend this – it was one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. On Sunday we went into Chipping Campden for a roast, which was lovely, but next time we will definitely book early and have it at The Ebrington Arms – they are understandably very popular so make sure you reserve in advance. After one final outstanding breakfast on Monday morning, it was time to head home – though we could easily have stayed longer. All in all, if you are considering booking here, don’t hesitate – just do it. The setting is stunning, the locals are wonderful, and the team are some of the friendliest and most welcoming people you could hope to meet. A perfect stay. 10/10 from us."
Noel Arms - "A Bespoke Hotel"
"The hotel breakfast and dinner were excellent, but the rooms did not have air conditioning."
Bantam Tea Rooms
"We stopped in for some tea but when my husband saw the pastries, we decided to stay for more. I ordered a bacon lettuce and tomato sandwich which came with chutney and was delicious. He had an almond pastry, also delicious...along with a green tea and coffee. The place is quite small and rustic in the nicer way. Do stop in if you are in this charming town."
