"Spontaneous lunch time visit on way back from airport and a real find. Despite being midweek it was buzzing and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Great menu choice and although there was a Tuesday special deal I opted for the fish pie which was delicious and very good portion size. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent food. Perfect combination. Worth having a wander around the pretty village as well. "

"The pub was very busy which is always a good sign. We had an 8.30pm booking got there early luckily as we were then told last orders were at 8.30pm, this made no sense to us and made the evening feel slightly rushed. The service from the upping staff was excellent very professional. The food was very good quality which you’d expect for £24 for pie & mash. The menu is quite limited for a vegetarian particularly if vegan. Everything is made fresh, and it was great that the fish pie could be made without prawns. It was frustrating that we were unable to order additional fries as the kitchen had closed. Three of us had the pre and the portions of veg was quite different on each plate - again probably due to the kitchen closing. Good food good service just a few minor frustrations"

Bedrooms tastefully decorated dining area so beautiful as is the guest lounge. Can't recommend it enough if you're thinking of coming to The area please stay here you will be amazed."

"Our host asked us to please remove our shoes in the hallway. We were happy to oblige, as they provide basic slippers to wear indoors. This policy helps them keep the house spotlessly clean. We had a wonderful room overlooking the garden. Shower was excellent. You can eat as much cereal and toast as you like in addition to a lovely cooked breakfast. The house is well situated for walking into Chichester or to Fishbourne Romsn Palace, but also handy for Portsmouth, Petworth, Arundel, the beautiful Chichester Channel and the coast. The town has plenty of nice restaurants and every village seems to boast a pub which does good food. My only gripe is that the wash basin is rather too small."
