Alishan House

Great hotel for the price paid and comes with breakfast and dinner. Rooftop has a good view to catch sunset. Would it great if there’s more facilities, e.g. gym.

We slept in the old wing. We were disappointed with outdated decor and poorly equipped bathroom. The sink was small with hardly any space to put your toiletries. There wasn't a desk or chair to sit down. Even the towels were old and not befitting of the high that we paid. Prior communication to guests about the timing of the shuttle bus service should have been done. There was also insufficient information provided to guests about some of the external activities like taking the train to watch the sunrise.

Stayed at the heritage part of the hotel. Room smelled like cypress wood. Toilet had some leftover hair, towels had some stains, and WiFi wasn't working (didn't feedback as I had connection on my phone). Buffet breakfast and dinner was good. The service staff at the restaurant were also very welcoming and polite. As I stayed a couple of nights, the manager even got the kitchen to prepare sth different for me, which was a really nice touch and made the stay so much better. Hotel was situated near all the trails, which is a big plus for travellers whose main aim is to complete the trails. There is an observation deck for quite a good sunset view and night time photography. If you're taking your own ride from the city area, do note that you must drop off at the tourist visitor station and wait for the shuttle bus, normal cars aren't allowed up to the hotel area. Shuttle bus has a frequency of twice per hour to bring guests to and fro the tourist town.

The hotel location is extremely good and convenient next to the nature park and forest. Hotel offered regular scheduled shuttle to commute within the nature park and train station and tourist information centre, eatery. Hotel facilities had aged and highly recommended for renovations and refurbishment for the furnitures and fittings. If the hotel operator can be cultivated with current trend - customer oriented service would enhance the quality of guest experiences.

The hotel is very old and outdated. Probably tourists won’t have much choice as there are not other decent hotels available nearby

Loved our stay in Alisan House. Note you need to take a dedicated shuttle to the actual hotel itself (the shuttle is great and runs every 30min). Although an older property, it has spacious rooms and a lovely balcony overlooking the beautiful scenery outside. Great place to stay as the trails are just outside the hotel. Their breakfast and dinner were delicious with a large variety and impeccable service. Very nice indulgent stay during our trip to Alisan.
