We are having a multi trip holiday in Thailand, first stop, the Anantara Golden Triangle Resort in Chiang Rai. Travelling at the beginning of September to miss the school holidays knowing this is out of season here in this beautiful part of the world. From the minute arrived we had the most wonderful greeting and were upgraded from our Deluxe room to a suite (room 342) which was amazing and what a room. That said, there are two things that set this place apart. First off the activities that are offered to you, most inclusive within your package but some which we highly recommend you do are at an additional cost. Walking with Giants, a 90 minute up close with the most magnificent elephants, we were able to shower them, walk with amazing guides, Tiger was brilliant, so knowledgeable and talked all about what they do here to look after these stunning creatures. The Spa, a 2 hour massage for both of us was so relaxing after a long travel from London. If you can stretch to the next 2 things, I would highly recommend these. Tree top dining, an intimate dining experience high in the tree tops, arrange this about 45 minutes before sunset so you see the 2 sides to a magnificent experience, however the best experience without doubt was the Jungle Bubble overnight stay. You are literally in a glass like bubble that is right next to where the elephants live. You have an amazing dinner served whilst watching them roam freely, eating right in front of you, then to Ben where you sleep under the stars…again, if you can afford this, it really is a must. The next thing that sets this place apart are the staff. We have been very fortunate and humbled to stay in some amazing hotels around the world but the staff here, simply incredible. So friendly, so welcoming and bar none every single member of staff has a smile on their faces. The hotel was quiet, which was lovely, but the staff were never intrusive, just always there when you needed, nothing was too much trouble and they genuinely looked like they loved being here, simply a beautiful place with the most beautiful staff. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the most memorable of 4 days here.

Great stay with my wife and our two teenagers, with unique daily experiences for each. The location is a bit far but worth the trip. Expensive but again, worth it.

Davvero molto consigliato!

We are a family of four and all had a brilliant time here. Food, room (Mekong Explorer suite) and service all outstanding. We loved all of the activities - especially going to the market and then learning to cook with PJ (who was an outstanding host), the sky bike, river trip and then course the wonderful elephants. We also enjoyed the tennis and Muy Thai boxing lesson. All round superb experience.

The resort is absolutely wonderful, surrounded by refreshing nature that makes every moment feel relaxing. Every meal was delicious and offered plenty of variety. The rooms were spotless, well-equipped, and very comfortable. The resort also provides a wide range of activities, and I especially loved the Walking with Giants experience, which allowed me to connect closely with elephants and nature. It’s heartwarming to see that all the elephants here are well cared for and preserved. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful throughout my stay. The restaurant team, in particular, was always attentive and recommended delicious dishes every time. I truly enjoyed every part of my stay and will definitely come back again!

I had the opportunity to enjoy a Chef’s Table experience at Samsarn Restaurant in the hotel, and it was truly one of the most memorable dinners I’ve ever had. From the ambiance and décor to the flavors of each dish, the gracious service of the staff, and the meticulous care and thoughtful progression of the courses crafted by both chefs, everything was impeccable. My heartfelt thanks to the hotel for curating such an exceptional dining experience.
