better than much better than very good…. the people, the best, the situation border on perfection when you love nature and the original and luxurious layout of a place.

The scenery of the resort is particularly winding, private and quiet. The boss was so capable, he came to pick us up attentively, and the food he cooked for dinner was delicious. Enjoying breakfast in a natural environment will make you forget the worries of life.

This is one of my favorite places in the world. Everyone here is so lovely, the grounds are so peaceful, and the food is great. I had such a relaxing time here and I hope to be back soon.

Had such high hopes due to the reviews. The lady at the counter was amazing, she did everything, actually too much and not sure how she handled it all on her own. From check ins, to pick up and drop offs to the airport, organise food, and general managing of the complex, she was brilliant and never hesitated to help. The rooms are big and very nice inside, and the grounds are nice. Unfortunately that's were the good ends. Its run down, feels like a ghost town, restaurant was not good with hardly any choice, breakfast was worse (probably the worse at of our 2 month thailand trip). Its way out, so need a car, its like a ghost town and abanded. It would have been such a good place a while back, but felt like there was no life, it was dead, it was run down, not looked after which is a shame - as it has so much potential.

This was my third time staying at Bura Resort. It is a lovely resort style accommodation. The rooms are very spacious, and the bathroom is huge. Good air con and wi fi. It was the hot season and the grounds had that very dry feel, different to the other occasions I have stayed. The small verandahs attached to each room are a pleasant place to sit, drink and enjoy the end of the day. Staff most helpful. We were extremely busy and up early and gone so didn’t get to enjoy breakfast. You will need a car to get to the resort. Being on the hillside it is noticeably cooler than down in Chiang Rai. There are restaurants, markets and 7/11s within a short drive.

I picked a place to stay for a couple days, my wife and I needed to get out of the city and get some rest – to many days playing tourist. I found Bura Resort just a short ride out of Chiang Rai, read some of the reviews and took a chance. What we got is a beautiful cottage surrounded by waterfalls and nature. Hannah, the young lady in charge is totally awesome, she is so helpful and she speaks very good English (communication is important). Bura Resort is a great “quiet” place for couples to get some alone time or just escape to. Sitting on my front deck, listening to the waterfall, watching the fish swim around the pond in front of my large cottage we could not ask for more. Short menus in the restaurant, but that is to be expected for an eight-cottage resort – but what they do they do very well! The only issue I have is that when I leave Bura Resort I think I will remember Hannah’s great friendly customer service more than Bura itself. Hannah is the “plus” to our stay. Overall, a perfect place to relax, unwind and just take a few days to enjoy life. Thank You Hannah and Bura Resort! Also – If you like HOT water, they have plenty here!

I booked the waterview room and was so pleased with the size and peacefulness of the room. Upon arriving I was greeted by the very friendly receptionist who guided me and my car to the room. This resort is different than a hotel in that you have separate houses throughout the property. Each house has two rooms, upper and lower. My room was an upper one with an expansive deck on a multi tiered water feature. Upon arrival you could hear the sound of frogs, crickets, and water flowing with the smell of flowers fragrant. From the outside the houses were whimsical in design, a lot of thought went into the design inside and out. The woodwork was beautiful mahogany in intricate designs. Upon entering through the double glass sliding doors the entire corner of the room was windows that provided the most beautiful sunrises over the hills and jungles. The bathroom had a two person sunken tub by the window, and an oversized shower. There was a desk, a large counter, and closet. All lights could be controlled from your bedside at night. Each morning I was there I worked and the staff brought me coffee and breakfast at no charge to my room. Upon arrival I also ordered room service for dinner and ate at the restaurant one evening. Every meal was amazing, and very affordable, not like getting room service in the states. A few areas for improvement would be that the internet was shut off each night and not turned on until 6:30am, making it hard to work as well as using a lot of data on my phone when the internet would turn off. A second area of concern was the lack of ease in connecting with the front desk unless you contacted them through Whats App or Instagram. Multiple times I went to the front desk and would not be able to find help, as well as the restaurant. I do understand that due to covid they are very short staffed and the hotel is not full to have everything fully operational. The grounds are wonderful but showing lots of age. I can imagine how beautiful if was when new and how with some work it can be brought back to it’s original glory. The staff were all very accommodating and friendly. I appreciated so much the attention to bringing food, and even coming back to wine chilled in the evening. Upon going back to Chiang Rai I would for sure recommend this place as a sanctuary to relax. If you are wanting a place to be able to walk around the city this place is not for you as it is out of town about 15 minutes. It is an easy car drive most places.
