Property Description
Fashioned after the Adirondack Great Camps, our home features many elements of a more authentic Adirondack lodging. Rustic furniture, beds and railings make this two bedroom home a cozy retreat for 2-5 people. Situated on an 80 acre property, with 4500 feet of river frontage you can enjoy trout fishing, hiking, mountain biking, on our private trails, or just siting back and enjoying the cascading falls from our forward facing screened in porch. In season enjoy swimming in our private swimming hole as the crystal clear waters of our trout brook surround you with delight. We have owned this property for 20 years and now with our children grown we would like to share this with others who love and appreciate the secluded, wilderness experience of an especially beautiful property here in the Eastern Adirondack region. We are located approximately 1/2 hour north of Lake George Village and a ten minute drive off the Northway. The house is kept clean and tidy. You will always be greeted with fresh linens and towels. The bathroom and kitchen will provide for most essentials, tissues, toilet paper, bottled water and many other thoughtful touches to make your stay comfortable. This property is rustic. Staying at Mill Rock Clove is an authentic Adirondack experience. We are NOT the Ritz Carlton and there is nothing fancy about it. Spaces are small and cozy. Much of the furniture is made by local artists using wood from our forests. The purpose of vacationing here is to rejuvenate your spirit, mind and body. It's about being in one of the most beautiful spots on the planet and absorbing the magical energy that is ever present. The property is on the site of a 19th century grist mill, and was a spiritual center for native Americans before that. We are privileged to have spent a great deal of time on the property and honored to share it with others. We also realize that not every one will appreciate what is on offer here. If you are looking for perfect weather or a 5 star Ritz Carlton experience please look elsewhere. There is also very little night life in the area, unless you drive 30 minutes south to Lake George. The local restaurants are generally good, but modest in standards. Supermarkets are available within a 15 minute drive. This is a vacation for people who understand what having an authentic experience in nature is all about. Much more comfortable than camping, and yet we strive to bring the beauty of the outdoors inside with large glass viewing areas, a comfortable spacious screen porch and original rustic furniture fashioned from local trees. The master bed is adorned by a large Birch Wood canopy which feels like you are sleeping in a forest grove. With a large oversized queen mattress good restful sleep after a day in the outdoors is hard to resist. Spend your days walking through our 80 acre private forest with 2 miles of private walking trails. In season relax in the stream and play in our private swimming hole. Fire wood is provided for both indoor and outdoor fire places. About pets:Pets allowed. One dog only. Cabin/House was great. Very private with amazing views from deck of the river. As owner stated this is basic and simple house but really nice and had everything you need for a great stay. We walked on trail by river and made a fire pit and used the grill. Bed was comfortable and kitchen had all you neededBest part is just the beautiful land with amazing river .passing by and upper level porch that allows you to view the river. Really enjoyed stay and highly recommend

Stunning view! Extremely responsive.Water from tap is not good. Buy a lot of water before coming, the local store may be out and it is a drive to a well stocked grocery store. Definitely will be coming back here again

Perfect Family Getaway I rented this home with my husband and kids (two teens and an 8 year old) and we loved this home so much! It feels more modern rustic and you can tell that a lot of thought went into the decor. Every nook and cranny had fun details to explore. Our favorite memories were made relaxing on the enclosed porch swing listening to the stream and floating on the stream itself. We loved the firepit and hiking the path along the water.

What a spot. Property and grounds exceeded expectations, what an incredible spot. Home was larger than the photos make it look. We had a great time. Thank you!

Cabin in the woods The property and location is beautiful can’t ask for a nicer view from the screened porch but the house was dated smelled musty.

Nice with mice The venue was idyllic – wooded, beautiful water view. The owner was most responsive in sending the caretaker to hook up the generator when the power went out due to severe storms in the area. The caretaker was also quick to respond to place mouse traps in the house. The mice found their way onto the beds, on the pillows and into my hair. Traps captured some of the mice but did nothing for the scurrying of the critters in the walls or the daily clean-up of mice feces throughout the upper level of the house. Other issues of lesser importance but important none the less: A good number of dishes and glasses in the cupboards were covered with an oily film and dust …. Not ready to be used by guests The water pressure in the shower was awful The hammock under the deck is in serious disrepair. The nylon tabs holding the support rings are rotting and broke upon sitting in the hammock. The smell of mold and dampness on the lower level is profound. I realized and accepted that the cabin is not the Ritz Carlton, that it was in a wooded, rural area. What I could not accept were the mice.
