Many years ago, I stayed at the Sophia main store when I came to Chengde. This time, I chose the newly opened Sophia Lizheng store to travel with my family. The rooms are spacious and bright. There are charging piles in the parking lot next to the hotel, which is very convenient for friends who have trams. First of all, I met the boss, who was still as enthusiastic as when I met him many years ago. Although they have experienced three years of epidemic, their enthusiasm has not faded at all, and their service has become more meticulous. This can understand that Chengde has opened its own travel agency. Each customer only needs ¥9.9 cents for the guide service fee. Professional tour guides will accompany everyone to visit the Summer Resort and give a detailed explanation of the entire history of Chengde. How persistent and passionate they are about the tourism industry. They also helped me book tickets for the circus performance, which is not only trouble-free but also... You know 😯 The hotel also has its own small leisure yard, which is very comfortable away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I booked Chengde's Ganyuan B&B in advance, which exceeded expectations and the environment was very comfortable. The design of the B&B was really attentive and very literary. The boss is enthusiastic, communicated and informed the route in advance and recommended Chengde specialties, and the service is particularly good. This time it is an ancient style private courtyard, the room design is very good, there is also a hall (sinking design), the bedding is clean, the single door also enjoys a small courtyard, drinking tea is good. The water heater is electric, one person needs to wash quickly, otherwise it will have to wait a while, remember to turn on the warm air when the weather is cold. The only problem is that the sound insulation is not good. The residents upstairs are a bit noisy, and the boss coordinated communication is also solved. The overall price/performance ratio is OK, praise. Will come again.

1. The room is spacious, and I especially like the large floor-to-ceiling windows. The green mountain scenery outside the window is pleasing to the eye. The night view is also very beautiful.
2. The service was very considerate. The front desk took the initiative to call us before we checked in and arranged an adjacent room for us and our parents near the elevator, which was very considerate.
3. Although breakfast is a buffet, the waiters are very diligent and take the initiative to help guests get food and tableware. They are not idle for a moment. Special thanks to the waiter Sun Lijing for taking very good care of my parents.

The location of the hotel is very good. It can be reached by getting off the highway. The above-ground and underground parking lots are very convenient. There are many guests entering the hotel, but the waiters at the front desk work in an orderly manner and have a very good service attitude. The room is quite satisfactory. The staff at the Tourism Consulting Service Department are very professional and saved us a lot of money and time. The tour guide's service is very good. If you want to book performance tickets, you can contact them. Personally, I feel pretty good. I will come to Chengde again in the future. Book a room here

By far the best accommodation in Chengde, in relation between price and quality. The service was amazing!!! I don't know how much money the reception ladies make, but they deserve a raise, every single time I had a question they were able to answer, from places to go, to places to eat. Limited english support, of course, but a translation app does the job. The room I stayed in was male-only. The beds all had curtains, an indoor light, and a private plug for charging, so no complaints. The in-room bathroom was always clean aswell.
The only con would be the amenities, no towel, no toothbrush, but I had brought my own so not a problem for me, and this is begging to look like common practice at hostels worlwide. And you need to make your own bed. Aside from that everything was perfect.

GGuest UserThis is the place to go if you want an authentic village B&B experience. The homestay is located right in front of the Jinshanling Great Wall ticket office. The owner is amazing! He was very courteous and responsive from the very beginning, before we even arrived in Beijing. We needed a way to get to Jinshanling, so he woke up at 3 AM so he could pick us up from the train station and drive us to his homestay, in a very clean and very comfortable 6-seater minivan. We were hungry; he called ahead and we had two steaming platters of homemade dumplings waiting for us. While we ate, he ran over to the ticket office and bought our tickets to the Great Wall. He also let us check in early and put our luggage in our room. We pre-ordered a simple farm-to-table dinner, and he went to the market while we were on the wall so we could have fresh local lamb skewers that evening. When we returned, we were treated to a very local and very delicious home cooked dinner. The next morning, he drove us to our next destination (Gubei Watertown). He also picked us up from Gubei Watertown and drove us back to Beijing. The entire time, he was wonderful. He was prompt and he did everything in his power to ensure our trip was smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Upon arrival, the front desk let us know that the room we had booked online didn’t have a great view, so they automatically upgraded us for free, without my even having to ask. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The outdoor grounds are beautiful and relaxing. We had breakfast in the hotel restaurant and it was an elegant array of Chinese dishes along with a few western options.
Location is ideal—within walking distance to the Summer Mountain Resort and restaurants and shops. Would definitely recommend this as a high-quality hotel for a stay in Chengde.

The surrounding is cozy, the room are clean with no cigarette odour even they provide ash tray in the room (suggest owner take away the ash tray and put a notice smoke at provider smoking area out side the premises), toilet are bright and water pressure is good (but hope the owner can make a little bit changes for the wiring system of the water heater), the food is tasty and size are too big for solo traveller (suggest to owner set a
price for small size for not wasting food), the owner parents are friendly and always give the good service. At night, surrounding is quite and good to rest. it is a walking distance to Jing shang ling tourist center but if planning to do the sunrise walk the owner will provide a transfer service to the entrance at 330am. Overall it is a good choice to stay here.

JJiaoyangsihuo55771: The bedding and pillows are quite comfortable, but the 1.8m bed feels a bit small, a bit like a 1.5m bed, not very comfortable. 2: It is specially for receiving tour groups, a bit noisy. 3: The shower in the bathroom is not very useful. The overhead shower sprays randomly when it is turned on. The handle for controlling the water temperature is loose. It gets hot when you move it slightly to the left, and cold when you move it to the right. Overall, it is average and the cost performance is not high. It is not as convenient as the hotel in the city center, and there are few restaurants around.

GGuest UserThe hotel is very close to the summer resort. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to the main entrance of the villa, and it is only a few minutes' taxi ride from the Waiba Temple. The lady at the front desk was enthusiastic and recommended discounted performance tickets and Bashang Grassland. I added the Rongrong Butler of their hotel on WeChat, which made it very convenient to consult if I had any questions. They sent me Chengde travel guide, which was very considerate. The room was clean and the restaurant was delicious. The security guard had a good and responsible attitude when directing the parking. We were given a plate of fruit when we checked in, and my son was given a small toy when we left. Overall satisfied and recommended.

Wwma1977This time, I took my elderly to Chengde for a trip. It happened to be a strong wind in North China. I stayed in the hotel for two days. The Hilton Garden Inn I booked was very conveniently located. It took less than ten minutes to walk to the Lizheng Gate of the Summer Resort. It was very convenient to eat and shop around the hotel. The hotel facilities were complete, the rooms were spacious and clean, and the staff were very warm and polite when entering and leaving. There was a small problem on the morning of the second day of check-in. The front desk staff of the hotel helped us solve it conscientiously and responsibly, and upgraded the view room. Because the resort was closed, we changed the train ticket and fought for a day to play. The hotel also enthusiastically delayed our check-out, which touched us very much and left a good impression on the trip to Chengde. I hope to see you next time!

Front desk seemed to not really know how to register foreigners, taking a long time when it’s actually quite simple process. They should be kept updated on new immigration policies China has implemented to ensure smooth process for all the guests. Also they had quite hard time to explain in Chinese (on phone) how it works to get in to Jinshanling Great Wall.
Concierge however was nice and helpful. Their service was 10/5 and raises the overall to 5/5 from 3/5.
Restaurant is fine, prices are quite high but given that food was edible and no other options it is acceptable. Breakfast is good enough.
Cleanliness is ok, bed sheets are clean but bathroom is not so clean, quite many stains. Taking better care of the room could and would allow cheaper maintenance in long term. Bit of dust also.
Hotel should offer transit service to its customers from railway station so they wouldn’t be stranded and aggressively faced by locals offering ride.
Great Wall itself is amazing so I can only hope hotel would step up its game for the future.

AAnonymous UserI would like to highlight three things in which I felt were very pleasant during my stay at the lodging.
First, I was pleasantly surprised at the service they offered. When my family and I were staying at lodging, the workers were extremely heartwarming and kind. They were willing to answer any questions we had about the attractions nearby and even drove us to the Jinshan Ling Great Wall of china Nearby.
Second, I would like to highlight the amenities and activities offered at the lodging. Although we only scratched the surface of the activities they offered. The lodging provided us with countless options. From having a mini movie theatre as well as pool & billiards room, they also offered a wide range of outdoor adventures such as kayaking and fishing which will surely enrich your stay there. Furthermore, the amenities themselves at the room we were staying in were exceptional. The lodging was spacious and provided us with separate rooms to stay in, making our stay an extremely pleasant one.
Lastly, I would like to highlight the food at the lodging itself. At every lodging one books I’m sure one would look forward to having delectable food right within a stone’s throw away. Needless to say, the food offered by the lodging from breakfast to dinner was both delicious and affordable.
I would highly recommend booking a stay here should you want to visit the attractions in the area but don’t forget to take time to enjoy and experience the adventures offered by the lodging too!

You can take the bus to visit other attractions. It is very convenient. If you drive, you can also park for free.
