Boy has this property changed over the years. We used to come here in the late 1980's and 1990's when it was a Holiday Inn and had a fantastic swimming pool and landscaped courtyard with beautiful Magnolia trees. Then it was sold off with the back area becoming a Red Roof Inn and the south side becoming the Country Inn and Suites leaving what you see today. At one time there was even a Red Lobster restaurant inside the motel. We had stayed here a couple of times over the years since and thought it had gone downhill a little until this recent visit. I don't know if it's new management or what, but the place was updated, very clean, and had a passable continental breakfast to get you out and down the road. The weekday prices were very reasonable compared to other lodging in town, particularly before a Virginia football weekend. The location can be good and bad, considering it's great to be located in the center of Charlottesville, yet traffic can be heavy and aesthetically your wedged in by 3 other hotel/motels and a gas station. We would definitely stay here again on another 2 night visit.
