Have stayed 2x & am basing this review on both experiences. Positives: location, location, location! Up the hill/walking distance to: 3 Notched Brewery, downtown pedestrian mall, and W. Main restaurants. Discovered a shortcut path by train tracks to make getting to pedestrian mall even shorter (turn left when exiting hotel). Clean. Pool & gym looked nice but did not use. Negatives: Breakfast. No milk today. No eggs either stay for the advertised breakfast sandwhich. Bad/weak coffee. Only 2 bananas. Was woken at 5am on a Monday by trash truck banging on a dumpster. Creaky bed with meh bedding. On first stay front desk staffer couldn't get fire pit to work....targeting the "thrifty traveler" this is an adequate less-expensive Hilton choice but was still $350.92 all-included for 2 nights for a Diamond member with a AAA rate. Charged $10/night for in/out parking (park on bottom level to get covered, spacious parking. Most park on exposed upper deck.) Again - you're paying for location! I do appreciate sustainability efforts - room serviced every 2 days, recycling bins by elevators & breakfast area. Do look at your bill - on my first stay I booked a AAA stay/park rate & was still charged $10 for parking on top of that.

I booked ahead prior to arriving at Charlottesville, not knowing how much availability there was and for ease of checking in. I chose this place because we wanted to explore the historic downtown nearby. We arrived on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. The hotel desk guy was not very friendly, and did not offer (or even ask) about my Hilton rewards, I don't think I received them. Then I found out that they charge $13 for parking in an unsecure open lot. This was not disclosed when the room was reserved. The room was on the 3rd floor and very large but very linear with kitchen, couch and bedroom all in a straight line. We didn't ask for a suite, I assume all rooms are like this, It was very expensive with high taxes added on. We noticed that the kitchen included dishes but they were all left inside the dishwasher and unwashed. Our room view was of private townhomes. When trying to get information, the same desk clerk guy was always outside vaping leaving no one at the desk. Breakfast was not very good at all and the coffee was undrinkable. When leaving, I asked the same vaping guy for a receipt for the charges. He said he didn't have access to it. I think that is a lot of BS. How would he not know what to charge and add on parking cost and incidental hold? It seems this place is a sort of shyster and poorly run place. I never did get a room receipt even via email. I don't recommend staying here.

Room for improvement Quick trip. Woman at check in wasn’t particularly friendly. Charged $10 for parking despite the fact the lot was empty. Rug I. The room was stained in several Places, AC was noisy. Another woman at the front desk set off the fire alarm at 4am which was really annoying.

We had a lovely stay except for the random fire alarm that went off at 4am! Very clean, friendly and helpful staff.
