We had a great stay at the Courtyard in downtown Charleston. The beds were comfy, there is 24 hour coffee, tea and water. There is a bistro on site which was very good - we had dinner there when we arrived. There is a Shoney's and a Wendy's walkable from the hotel. It was very nice to not have to drive anywhere after checking into the room. The laundry is free but you need to provide your own detergent. They have some for sale in the little marketplace at the front desk. The location is easy to access from the freeway. It is very close to the capitol building and civic center. We would stay here again.

All of the employees we encountered during our stay were friendly and helpful. However, this property would benefit from being refreshed, hence the rating. The room we stayed in was tired, and the tub shower definitely needed an update. Hopefully Marriott will put it on their list.

The hotel was good, have stayed there many times on our way thru Charleston. The thing that made me decide never again - the parking fee of $10 they must have recently added. The fee wasn't being charged by the hotel but by a company they must have contracted to do their parking lot.I parked in the hotel lot and didn't pay attention to the sign in the parking lot to pay a vendor to park there. They were full the night I stayed there , so maybe over 100 cars times $10. I received a note on my car in the morning. Why didn't they just add to the room price? What's next - they tow my car when I park in their lot?

Beware. Hotel now surprises you will 10 dollars a day parking fee. Also exhorbant fees attached to it. No attendant no security. More and more Marriott hotels. Raising fees etc to earn just little more while neglecting customers. As usual only one elevator works. That happens all the time. Many other hotels close by with better services. Do not stay here. This is not a resort. I expect soon they will add resort fees towel fees and the like.

Staying here because my sister is in a local hospital. Great hotel to come in and relax after a long and sometimes stressful day. Rooms are nice and comfortable as well as very clean. Hotel staff are all nice and especially Bobbie at the front desk. I needed to extend my stay and she was so kind and very helpful in getting me what I needed. It’s so nice to have such a professional caring person to take care of you in your time of need. It made coming back to the hotel every evening such a pleasure. I would stay here again because of her generosity.

Everything was great. Bummed I had to pay $13 to park in an empty city with literally dozens of open spots in the hotel lot.

Conveniently located off the expressway. Everybody was super friendly. The food and drinks were delicious. We didn’t have to go out after a long day on the road. Everything was right there.

Happy with our choice!
Front desk employee was extremely helpful. Location was great and property was well maintained. They appear to have a strong management team. We are happy with the choice we made while in Charleston for the first time.

River view! Pay for breakfast and parking
Overall nice stay. The suite has a very large living room. They do not serve breakfast - option to pay. Also have to Pay for parking. The hotel is right on river with a nice outside area. Clean safe area surrounding the hotel.
