Clarion Hotel Charlecote Pheasant

Originally booked in for three nights extended it to five, would have been longer but they are fully booked. Nice clean room in a good location, friendly and helpful staff, will be returning. Nice Sunday roast yesterday evening enjoyed it very much.

We stayed here as it was a great location for our visit to the Game Fair. Sadly, the location was the only thing going for it. We were in room 18, it was smelly and dirty, even the top of the headboard was thick with dust 🤧 The hotel is understaffed so breakfast on both mornings meant waiting for items to be refilled. Definitely not worth the price we paid. One of the grottiest places I have stayed.

I would lie if I didn't say we were disappointed by the room that was allocated to us. Having stayed here many times before in lovely rooms I was quite keen to return and bring our friends. The room in the newish block on the ground floor overlooking the tennis court was dark, dingy and not quite what we were expecting. Having said that, we got the room at a great rate, the bed was very comfortable, good shower pressure and fluffy towels. The best thing about this hotel however was the food. Portions perfect, on hot plates well presented. Nothing fancy just decent cooking at fair prices. If I were local I would probably come here often to meet up with friends as there is a nice bar area, a changing menu and a very convivial atmosphere. We discovered Antoinettes Heirlooms Antiques just as we were leaving, What a great place with some gorgeous pieces, just make sure you pop in when you first arrive as once you leave you will be wondering why you left without buying it. Will I return, definitely, but need to check out which room they have available, as this review rating is really about the room and everything else deserves a higher score
