The hotel is located in the middle of Ljubljana old town. You have a lot of bars and restaurants in walking distance with all the sightseeing in walking distance. Breakfast was also decent. Would suggest bacon and omelet

Great location! We really enjoyed the hotel breakfast and the front desk was very accommodating. They recommended a great run route and arranged transportation to our parking garage with luggage at checkout.

This is a lovely little hotel with excellent staff. We stayed here for 3 nights and the staff could not do enough for us. The breakfast was lovely with a good selection and table service The hotel is right next to the river in a prime location, but be aware that cars cannot get to within 5 minutes of the hotel as it is in a pedestrian area. There are other review that mention about loud noise from outside but we didn’t find this even though all the bars and restaurants next to the hotel were busy unti late

We had a fabulous stay at Hotel Vander. The staff were so helpful and attentive, ensuring we had a very delicious packed breakfast for our early departure. I left my iPad behind and staff member Lara went above and beyond in arranging a courier to return it to me. The hotel and the room was very clean and comfortable. The location of Hotel Vander is perfect.

Nous avions retenu cet hôtel pour sa localisation et nous n’avons pas été déçu!! Une situation vraiment privilégiée en plein cœur du centre historique de Ljubjana. L’hôtel dispose également d’une petite piscine qui est toujours un plus après une journée ensoleillée pleine de visite. Seul point négatif, la dimension de la chambre et surtout de la salle de bain. Vraiment pas pratique. L’accueil et les personnes qui y travaillent sont très aimables et gentilles.

Vander Urbani, “A member of Design Hotels”. What design? Must have been a long time ago. The hotel website is deceiving. Location is great, situated along the river in the old town, but the hotel itself is starting to look rather shabby. The aircon does not work at all, not even a light blow of air. Our room was like a sauna. Hotel staff told us they’d had to hand out fans to other guests and there was none left for us. We were promised one by the receptionist for the second night. It never made it to our room. The minibar fridge in our room did not work. And the bed linen and towels have definitely seen better days. Hotel staff is friendly enough but does not care too much about customer satisfaction, apart from a couple of exceptions (Sanjiv, Tezej, who were very friendly and helpful). In short, price/performance ratio is VERY substandard. I wrote directly to the hotel owner/manager 8 days ago. As of today, I have received no answer. They obviously don’t care, as long as the tourists keep coming!

Good hotel - very central with a nice canal-side bar and restaurant. Nice modern decor. Pretty well maintained. The rooms were fine and the breakfast was pretty good. One dinner we had was very good. My only issue was that the restaurant and bar management was awkward. There always seemed to be an issue with getting a table either for a drink or for dinner, even when it wasn’t busy. On one occasion, the manager kicked us out from our table due to upcoming reservations. When we walked back past about 45 minutes later, there were still loads of empty tables. I then went there a week later just to get a quick early (6pm) dinner. There was nobody there while all of the other neighbouring bars were full of people eating and drinking. When we asked if we could get something to eat, they made a big fuss about perhaps not having the space or the time before all the “reservations” arrived. They managed to fit us in. And when we left, the place was still only half full. The food was really very good, but the awkward table management left a bad taste. The waiters and waitresses were good and friendly. It was only the management, who made a particular show of not being mere waiters, who were difficult.

We zijn een nacht in dit hotel gebleven (met in ons achterhoofd ervaringen van andere hotels; hotel one66 is een aanrader). We waren toch erg verbaasd dat de kamer die we kregen best wel gedateerd was en in zekere zin wat minder goed onderhouden. Daarnaast vonden we het geluid wat er buiten was (zit in een omgeving van veel bars/ restaurants) toch nog erg goed binnenkwam. We vonden het ontbijt niet heel veelzijdig. Daar kunnen ze zeker nog in verbeteren. Bij de receptie werden we vriendelijk begroet en geholpen.
