Staybridge Suites Cedar Rapids North

Convenient Location: Frequently praised for proximity to destinations and easy access.

This IHG hotel is very disappointing. When you arrive, you are greeted with unkept flower beds, overgrown bushes and weeds. Upon entering, the employees are extremely nice, but there is no air conditioning in the lobby and it’s 90+ degrees outside. Go up to the room, and thought it was clean, but extremely dated (paint is obviously old as is the floor, carpet, etc). Later realized there was a dirty dish in the sink. Ok, just needed a nights sleep. Get up the next day and go to a breakfast of cold eggs, cold sausage, and again, no air, so it’s absolutely stifling. Slammed down a little breakfast and left. BTW, breakfast starts at 7 on weekends, I was there at 6:50am before it opened, so the food had not been sitting around. That’s how it was served. I gave 3 stars because the desk employees (evening and morning) were very friendly. But this is not a good IHG property at all. Won’t stay here again.

Check-in was good. Fire alarm was chirping in the room. Moved to different room. Toilet was wobbly, dishwasher was running, and was chilly(64) in the room. Then noticed a used tissue underneath the vanity. Came back to room after being out for the evening and room keys didn't work. We had to go back downstairs and get new ones. No apology. Just handed us one card. Probably won't be back.
